What's new

For Pilots:

From Airline Pilot Central

Most junior USAirways captain hired: Jan 1986 (A320/DCA)
Most junior AWA captain hired: Sept 1998 (737/PHX)

Good luck with the merger. There are going to be a lot of unhappy people regardless of what seniority list integration plan they use (date-of-hire or relative-seniority). I wish the new venture well and hope you can make it work without generating too much internal animosity.

Just curious, anyone have the date of hire of the most junior pilot on the property?

I believe but dont quote me, the most jr pilots seniority at US is maybe Aug/Sept of '88. Obviously they are f/o's, I also think they are based in LGA.

I am sure the above post meant to say current pilots bidding for B737/A319 and up size.

The most recent USAirways Seniority List shows the Number 1 Pilot with a 1966 Date of Hire. He retires this month.

The most junior Captain has a DOH of 3/17/86. The last number on the list, furloughed, is 5861. Date of hire 6/19/2000.

The most junior pilot active on Mainline was number 3537, DOH 7/18/1988.

Many of the furloughees are flying at MidAtlantic, which the company has sold to Republic Holdings. This includes over 300 pilots. Clever as they are, the company has always said that MidAtlantic was the Embraer Division of USAirways for FAA purposes. See other threads regarding this quagmire.

There will shortly be another Permenant Base Bid reflecting the further reduction in the U fleet to 221 jets or another minus 10 B737's by FEB 2006. Boeing Boy should have the exact numbers.

Thanks for the info. There is a lot of incorrect information floating around the industry and I wanted to make sure I did my best to get facts.

Am I reading this correctly an 'HP' Captain/FO for the 757/A320 makes more money than a US Air Captain/FO?

I thought the US pilots(employees) made more than 'old HP'?

AW makes more for flying the A320/B737. They make less for the B757.

AW had no wide bodies prior to merging.

You may want to specify that your "wide body" remarks apply only to aircraft. 😀

... at least none that were aircraft. 😀

(Yep, we've all got 'em! How do they get down the aisle?)

Look for the bid later this month (put out 20th - 23rd and closing on 30th - 31st), and you're right - the remaining 10 or so 737 returns will be included.
