Watching the NBA rookie/sophomore game it's nice to see our name featured in a national event covered by networks.

The last time we had naming rights they knocked the building down.

Nice change.

I'm not watching the game, but do you mean billboards or on-air advertisements or what?

I believe the game is at the USAir arena in PHX logo is on the court
Us Air Arena would be the one knocked down after the Bullets/Wizards moved to new digs-it didn't take long after the new building arrived that this relic disappeared.

That was such a lame example of where we were at, at the time. Money on something we had a history with such as NASCAR would have been money better spent.

What I always found ironic was that United named United Center in ORD but WN had ALL the commercials for nationally televised Jordan/Bulls games.

WN must pay a pretty penny for all that advertising.

It is amusing to see this kind of guerrilla advertising considering what companies pay for naming rights.

Not that I see many Suns games but I'm sure WN does the same to Us.

It is probably cheaper to win the local PHX pi**ing match than it is to spend millions on a national identity-"WalMart-THE low price leader" or something to that effect?.

I can't recall specifically what the numbers are for WN's advertising Budget but I used to know and I can tell you it is way more then Wolf, Gangwal, Nagin, Siegel and anyone else I forgot walked off with in severance and that might not cover a full years budget
Considering how half in the bag we were at the time it was probably wise not to spend money on advertising but to have named an out dated and doomed place like US Air arena in Lansdowne? MD to consummate our doomed marriage to UA speaks volumes to the kind half a**ed way of doing things we've had for decades.

I bet SWA advertising budget is bigger then the legacy’s combined.
The original America West naming deal was an uber good deal. Something like 25 years for $5 or 10 million. With the merge the redid and extended it but it was still a good one compared to some of the huge ones that had been in the fairly recent past.
