Future of the AMT shortage

$14/hr is an insult anywhere in the US for anyone who will be responsible for safety and airworthiness.

Never take an A&P job that includes "facility upkeep" that could mean janitorial services!

I like the part where they say "Our clients hire us to find the best qualified candidate."

What it should say is "Our clients hire us to find someone who is either naive or desperate enough to take this job".

This has hit the nail on the head.
The only reason that the supply of "skill labor" has been depleted is because the businesses refuse to pay for quality workers.
The AMT market has been steadily depleted by other markets siphoning off AMTs with higher pay.
This is especialy true of the GA maintenance market. When your average FBO/Repair station starts an AMT out at $8 to $12 an hour, its hard to compete with non-aviation shops that start at that $15 to $25 an hour level.
