Good evening fellow travelers.

It's been a while since I posted for two reasons.

1. Liver disease isn't for sissies and I was beginning to circle the drain and withdrew from most contact especially on the internet.

2. On January 7th The phone rang and one of the transplant coordinators from Thomas Jefferson University Hospital called saying they had a liver that matched and after full disclosure I headed for Jefferson. There I was greeted by Dr. Cataldo Doria and the transplant team. I am most happy to report that the surgery successful. I am on the mend and the stitches come out Wednesday. Pain is mostly gone, still more water weight to shed, But I amhappy to report I now weigh less than 200lbs, which has not been the case since 8th grade. Next comes the somewhat ardous task of rebuilding muscle mass which is usually the first casualty with Liver Disease. Right now I'm happy to report that "Wally the Walker" has been laid off and I can now walk unassisted.

Energy isn't all the way back but it gets better day by day. I believe in the God that never fails and now I have proof. I'm planning on being around for a long time.

This is great news. It shows how petty political differences can be....you have LIFE, and this reminds me of just how precious that gift is. Welcome back

Good for you Sparrowhawk. Here's to a speedy recovery.

Great to hear it guy! God bless!.....It'll be good to get some fresh input for a change!

Thanks everyone. Recovery can take over a year. But everyone is different and so far, so good. Liver disease ain't for sissies I'll tell you that. I was starting to circle the drain when I got the call. By my estimate I had under a year left.

Another thing is getting the gift of life in this manner is a very very humbling experience. I gaze in wide wonder at just how sweet life is. I'm so looking forward to getting healed up and enjoy how ever much "Overtime" God has given me.
