Hawaiian Airlines Inc. said it delayed and may scrap plans to buy as many as 24 Airbus SAS wide- body jets because of an impasse in talks with pilots.

The purchase, with a list price of $4.4 billion, was announced Nov. 28. Hawaiian, a unit of Honolulu-based Hawaiian Holdings Inc., disclosed the delay today in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Hawaiian had been negotiating with pilots on terms and conditions under which the planes would enter its fleet.

Talks “failed to produce an agreement to dateâ€￾ and the sale may not be completed, Hawaiian said in the filing.

😱 😱 Oh i'm so sorry to hear this. I hope they can settle their dispute SOON! I Love Hawaii and Hawaiian and really was hoping for Hawaiian to start service from the East Coast. Lets hope they can settle SOON!! Good LUCK!

Good for Hawaiian! I have flown HA many times and have always had a pleasant experience. Extending their route network to the Philippines is only logical........many Islanders have Philippino roots and there are several other destinations in the Pacific Rim that HA should consider service .
