What's new

Hai 2004

I'd love to go this year, anyone still have a squillion dollars left?

I'm actually going to try and sneak along with the Eurocopter brass this year. With the proper planning, I should be able to fit in and go unnoticed until they see me cavorting with the Bell boys. (if they fly a 130 down, there is ample room to stow away)

Once I'm caught...I'll need to cash in a few favours.

I would like to go to "lost wages", maybe when I am there I will check out some of the impersonators who claim to be Me.

:elvis:  :elvis:

Yep not beeing part if the EC org any more I may have to pay my own way hopefully L-3 will give me some freebie tickets for the actual show. Wonder if they ( EC ) will let me in the marketing meeting this year LOL.

Widgeon:

Are You not high enough on the food train at Your current employer for a paid trip to HAI.?

:elvis: :bleh: :elvis:

Goodmorning All,
Just a quick translation for our North American Friends. An " Esky " as refered to by Heli Ops is of coarse a cooler. ie Free Beer. Count me in. See you in March.

Congratulations to Laurence Perry of Whistler. He will be given the pilot-of the-year award in Las Vegas.
Many of you will know Laurence, he's quite a character and hard to forget once you've met him!!

He was flying on a mountain rescue contract in Grand Teton Park, Wyoming and performed a long-line rescue of six climbers that had been hit by a lightning storm on a 13,770 ft peak. The climbers were ascending the Friction Pitch, a 130-foot rock wall not far from the mountain’s summit, when the storm struck.

The rescue team set up a staging area on saddle at about 11,000 feet. From there, a second helicopter shuttled rescuers and the injured to a waiting air ambulance on the valley floor.

Sadly, the last time one of our fellow pilots was given an award there were a few critics on this forum.
Not everyone of us can get an award for our efforts. But instead of being critical (or jealous) of the few that do get recognition, let's give each other a pat-on-the-back when needed (shiny award or not), and not a kick in the arse.

Well done LP.

Mag,

Are you going down to LV?..... I thought you weren't allowed into the states after the 'animal' thing in HL? LOL
I think I am going down to try one of those 407 things out, see what ALL the fuss is about.....

Don't do it T-Rex, You'll never be able to cross back to the dark side !

407 - I thought you were on the dark side....

T-Rex, I do agree with 407 though, don't do it. It's likely to be an experience which will haunt you the rest of your life. All that power, all that speed. Everything you aren't accustomed to.

However, I read today that a Gulf operator has chosen the Koala over future purchases of the 407 because it kicks the pants off of it. I wonder how my poor EC products will manage now that there is even a bigger top dog out there.

Whats next... Robinson at the top?

P.S. $1000 bucks to keep quiet about the animal thing....

If Randy H is there from Bell, he'll be the target, I KNOW his credit card has a healthy limit

Randy hasn't been with Bell since last Sept.

OK, it looks like I'm going, so who else do we have? Roll call...

- Biggles
- Vertical Mike (and Mrs Mag, I hope)
- Heli-Ops
- 407 Driver
- Maggie?
- Widgeon?
- T-rex?
- 412?

We're definitely going to have to have a get-together down there.

CTD, say it isn't so ? Who from Bell is going to treat me in the manner to which I have become accustomed?
MAG! got any room over there in the EC tent for a proud supporter? Gosh, those EC130B4's are great, can you buy me a beer ?

I know, Buddy. He was an integral part of my ongoing severance package. His last official act was to buy dinner for Hightower, She-TD and me. I'm honoured.

CTD (Senior Member) + Old Sam, quite the combo ! 😛

Agreed CTD, we should definitely have a get together - it appears that I'll be there from the 12th to the 19th or 20th.
