GOP "Uneasy", as allies "stray" on healthcare

I never figured "this" would happen,.....But, the more I think about it, (from their standpoint/Insurance companies) it makes sense.

It's beginning to look like the Insurance companies have figured out that they are dealing with a Strong(and getting STRONGER) POTUS, + a strong(and gonna' get a LOT STRONGER) Democrat congress(in 2010) !

SO,.....what to do ?

Start "sucking up" to BO, to get the best deal, over your arch rivals.

And it's Increasingly looking like the GOP is gonna' get left...."HOLDING the BAG" :bleh:

"And the HITS just keep on COMING"

You have no inkling of the damage to healthcare this administration is going to do to the populace via a hidden agenda to control SSI payouts. You should be concerned at your age.

You need a special treatment??.........you've lived a fruitful existence......its time for you to die...........

You base this conclusion on what? I just had a hernia operation. The Ins Co is now claiming it was a pre-existing condition after they auth the surgery. They want $10k from me. I have not lived a fruitful life yet and I had no means to pay for the surgery other than to go into debt for debt for $13k. I'm concerned for someone NHB's age NOW!

The right and the medical industry keep making it sound as if Canadians are dropping like fly's due to their horrible medical care. BTW, my mom was in a German hospital for 11 days. Surgery, physical therapy, IV antibiotics, semi-private room. Best care she ever received. Cost - Less than $5k. My dad has a back injury and broke his femur last year. Still in pain. He's is going to a German health spa for treatment in June because the docs/HMO's don't give a crap.

People are going abroad for major surgery. They are going to Asia, Europe, South America for treatment. They can go there, get 5 star service, treatment by doctors trained here in the US, for less than the surgery here in the states. They cannot afford to get treatment here in the US so they go abroad. And you think our current system is fine?

I'm sorry Dell, I m not concerned for NHB future, I am more concerned about NHB making it to old age. Given the status of today's health care system I think we have far bigger problems on our hand.

Theres a huge difference in Medical procedures abroad that costs you money and government sponsored health care that is given for free. You again fail to see the ever important significant differences.

This ought to be good. Please share your insight.

You should look into Daschle's plan that limits and denies treatment, that's the plan they're going with...modeled after Britain.

Healthcare rationing...I think they call it.

People are going abroad for major surgery. They are going to Asia, Europe, South America for treatment.

Sex change surgery doesn't count........

Leaving the country and seeking your own treatment will not be an option.

You guys are so naive...........you're going to be quite surprised.

I take it this is not what you were talking about. Obviously since all the President has done is create firestorm and help unite Democrats and Republicans in opposition. Ironic the one time the President can get them to be bipartisan is to fight him tooth and nail. When comes right down to it is the responsibility of the US government to take care of those injured in service of their country. It is something not open to debate.

Quite honestly I don't know what the hell they were thinking. One has to assume that in any administration brainstorming sessions occur. Ideas get tossed out there for and a lot never leave the room. This is one idea that should have never seen the light of day. Did they think that any sane Congressmen would sign onto this? Talk about a waste of political capital.

It defies logic. They want to save $500 million at the same time want to increase the VA budget to $112.8 billion?

The under lying truth of the matter is Obama wants to break the back of private insurance companies thereby elevating his socialist agenda of government mandated health care.

I really don't care about the reasoning behind. Although I seriously doubt that it would break the back of private inurance companies.

By teh way dapoes your statement by making men and women injured in the service of our country pay for their care is not accurate.

Hows that? According to your own article link:

Under the proposal, insurance providers would be billed by the VA for the treatment of wounds and conditions sustained as a result of their military service. The VA now picks up those costs, and only bills insurance providers for medical treatment unrelated to a veteran’s military service. Veterans generally pay a co-pay charge for treatment at a VA hospital.

Hey fixer, Good to "see" you.

I couldn't get the original link to work, but under "the Hill's" home page, the article was there under the caption......."GOP worries as allies stray on healthcare" (or words VERY VERY close to that affect)

Maybe someone way more PC knowlegeable than myself can "link it up"

Aint it grand? POTUS now wants to bill our valiant servicemen who are injured in the line of duty. They will have to get private insurance. What a slap in the face and how stupid of the WH advisors who are coming up with these ideas, especially on top of the AIG bailout and Exec bonus scandal.
