Just one problem with Ms. PIPES book.
I can't seem to find the chapter that says....what to do about the "blood sucking" Insurances company's, who sell you a policy, then do EVERYTHING they can do.................NOT to PAY.
AND,
If all else fails, just claim ...."it's a Pre-existing condition" !!!!!
Everything about your posts seem to be pretty negative. This is another example. Now it is Insurance Companies you rail against. Is there not one thing in this great country that you do not like??
I am NOT saying that the point you mention has not happened, I'm sure, and I know it has. However, in MOST ALL instances. the system works when one plays by the rules. Case in point; me. Several years back, was in a freak car accident, freak because of the circumstances. (go have your fun with my choice of word), one call to my Ins Co, instantaneously.....done! First check for 10,000 for med bills(not paid directly to me btw). following that, everything my Ins was supposed to pay.... other med/hospital bills/rehab....paid in full with no problemo. My work short/long term disability(that I had to contribute handsomely to I may add)......check in the mail after missing 4 months of work(1 check only, I should add).....done, albeit after the paperwork, read, red tape, which IS a problem.
The problem most ALWAYS stems from the fact of fraud.....period. People abuse the system, the insurer tightens their belts, hence, the rules. Look at work comp rules, insurance....HELLO??. Where I used to work, it was abused to the hilt by several. The sleel mills that used to be here, "The Burgh"

,workers abused it to the "Nth" degree.
For the people who have had problems, as I stated before, I'm sure there are many, it is disheartening.
Crush the abuse, and maybe the system could be reformed in a sensible, plausible way
