Helicopter Industry

I see thing have not change much since my last visit. blackmac is still defending the HEPAC association and doing a good job at it. we still have the same people obsessed with trying to pommel the ideal into obsolescence. For the newbies, if you read some of old threads on HEPAC you will see the similarities in their posts.
surely, we as professioals could be able to join together to form a united voice. Most profession have some sort of association to represent their vocation, so, why can't we come together with one vociferous voice to represent us with unanimity?
IF your employer can have a association(HAC), should we not follow suit. we have heard the saying. what good for the goose is good for the gander. So, let's release the brakes on this baby and become a omnipotent association. Let's stop preaching individualism, incredulous, and inhibition. 😀

p.s. Maybe the good guys and gals have not left. they are just to busy flying and maintaining aircraft.

Stealthray; Good to have you back.

Some of your comments bring back memories from isolation for a couple of months in bush camp, with no communication to speak of.

Come back home and the BS and news had not really changed, just a differnet day in time.

Cheers,Don

Perhaps it is time to “put up†or “shut upâ€. Some have suggested that the price should be lowered to $50.00 to make it affordable for the masses. I agree with that as I was one that found the $200.00 a bit steep. Maybe not out of line, as has been suggested, with startup costs, etc, but I have a family, (kids & grandkids) to support and $200.00 is significant amount. $50.00 I could, and will do, if we get some sort of agreement on that… (Of course the few who have already paid would have to be compensated somehow…)

Why not drop it to $50.00 and get us on board and rolling. And then lets go the next step and say if you haven’t “put upâ€, then “shut up.â€

The ones that don’t want to see it happen will probably never get on board so lets just move on without them. Let’s post on the HEPAC website, the names of those who have “put up†so everyone knows who’s “for it and against it.†

As I understand it, no one is being forced to join, forced to support, or forced to agree what is trying to be done. So if you’re not for it, leave the ones that are alone, so they can get on with it.

I just read in another thread that Hepac will soon have it's own web page.

You will now have your little place where you can get you're ball rolling. This has proven that it isn't the place that will work.
A public forum where you want censorship from those who oppose your views is a step backwards. It'd be far more productive to spend the time explaining the merits, even if you have to explain it each and every time, instead of bashing into submission those that "just don't get it"

Ahhmmmm, correction on that, we will now have OUR OWN PLACE AS A PROFESSIONAL ASSOCIATION to get the ball rolling in a positive and effective manner. I can only imagine that only the serious, only those who genuinely want to see improvement and get involved, will be able to freely participate.

Personally, I see nothing wrong with that.

This forum can still and probably will be indirectly very active anyways with regards to further input with HEPAC.

Hummmmm, I see nothing wrong with that either.

there is nothing wrong with an open forum, but you're going to get both sides. Its obvious that HEPAC can't handle both sides right now.
Thus... you're right there is nothing wrong with closing the walls in and having your own little pow wows. Do what you need to, I have no problem with that. But as everyone has always pointed out, you need the numbers, lock out the curious and then what will you have?

I was going to get sucked into this but the question was a no brainer.

The question came from somebody that in the operational area, nobody wants anything to do with, other than to order parts, which most of the time they don't have.

God, I wish Rudy was still in charge, he would have cleared the deck along time ago.

Tony wake up, you are not doing the industry any favours.

I might add, tell somebody who cares about you.

Cheers, Don

??? what was that reply all about ??

translation please.

:elvis: :elvis:

Elvis: It's way over your head, you don't have the capacity to understand.

Keep on your meds as your idol and you will be o.k.

Cheers

Elvis...I was waiting for a reasonable translation for you, but it seems it's not coming.

I will speak slowly for you, to humour Mr B.

The translation that should have followed your question, instead of filling your blue suede shoes with slander, should have gone something like this....

"We need members, and are willing to allow non pilots and non engineers to join, we have shown our committment to this by allowing membership to include these people to this day. However, should you show any resisitance to my dreams, I am the founder and have the right to tell you you are not welcome irregardless of the fact that you are a licenced AME in canada."

The Rudy connection is all making sense now. I remember when he was at the helm of canadian, it was a time where the worst treatment was handed to everybody. Glad I'm not buddies with him, or associated in anyway.

Elvis, we should send in our membership dues, with both our real names and our alias' and see how long it takes for our cheques to be returned.

I've been wrenching since 1990 so I haven't been around that long. The Pilots and Engineers Association or any facsimile thereof that has been floating around probably will not fly because everyone in the aviaiton industry in Canada is out for themselves. I wouldn't join any organization that would try to dictate what pay and benefits I receive. I get what I work for, plain and simple.
I'm still a rookie; only wrenching since '71, & still learning every day. Stay safe crew!

abc,
I've only been around since 69. 😀
And I am still learning cause I'm slow.
Have a great day!

THE PRCCL IS A MECHANISM TO KEEP OPERATORS IN LINE

ITS BEING TOUTED AS THE CREDIT BUREAU FOR PILOTS.

ADMIN

What exactly is it? Who's behind it? And how exactly would it keep the opeators in line??

shame...plain and simple shame.

I'm guessing you call up the hotline, something like 1-800-99P-RCCL, and talk to one of many friendly operators. You give them the details of the job posting you read, and they'll fill you in on all the gossip/rumours/truths about that company that they have managed to compile thru various anonymous polls taken recently. Then it's up to you to take your new found knowledge and make your choice if you want to apply on the job.
