What's new

Here we go again

Only if the 'best thing' is the liquidation of both companies.

May not be good for DL and NW employees, but it would shut up all those ananlysts screaming about overcapacity. At least until Virgin and a few other startups step in and muck it all up again.

That IS what ALPA DON said, isn't it? That what the industry needs to get healthy is for a large block of seats to go away. Nice of Delta's pilots to offer the company up as the sacrificial lamb so the rest can breathe a little deeper. If it does happen, do you think they'll get any thank-you cards?

Strike center?? ooh scary! They make it sound like a big elaborate switchboard is in place with operators standing by and an 800 number. All they really have is an empty cubicle for a volunteer with a cellphone.

DL does NOT want to go BK-"7" !!!!!!!!!

In fact, DL believes they can come out of BK-11 successfully, and Will NOT risk a strike.

DALPA's contract will NOT be thrown out !! IF it is, I'll be the FIRST one to ADMIT, I was wrong.
ANY TAKERS ????????????

DALPA WILL get Every possible $$$. !!!

It is NOT Rocket science to figure out, WHERE the $$$$ is going to come from.

NHBB,

We seem to agree on everything. But, this time I have to say we don't. I think the DALPA contract will be tossed out. I also belive the NW Pilot contract will be too. It's just a race to see who goes first!

I agree. Mgmt holds all the aces.

What makes you think the DL pilots have any responsibility to continue flying just to preserve your job? Do you think they will get thank you cards for not striking, because that afterall would be worth the continued ridiculous degredation of the contract. Seems a bit arrogant on your side as well.

How brave! How bold! How typically union! Your employer is fighting for its very life, and you're out there beating your chest and talking about strikes.

Wow! Caught redhanded! Frankbooth totally owned you, buddy!

B.O.B

I should have added that "IF" DALPA's contract gets "tossed", that I TOTALLY believe that they WILL walk.

(I'd have to say I was wrong in my opinion, nonetheless)

Can you imagine the Delta and Northwest Pilots on strike at the same time? That would be the best thing to ever happen to these anti-union carriers.
<_< And you call the TWU a Union? What a joke!!!!! Come on, tell us how you got reed of your exTWA "brothers" in LAX!!!!

I'm not a memeber of the TWU. So, I can't answer that.
<_< Well then, excuse me for stepping on your toes!! It's just that I work with a few displaced LAXers, and from what I'm told they really got the shaft from their TWU "brothers"!

Hmmm, did I say that?
I have said:
Don’t like what’s offered? Quit and walk away.
Don’t like where the industry is going? Change carriers.
If everybody walks, oh well.
BUT! Strike, when you know it will put 50,000 other employees out of work; employees who have decided for themselves that it is in THEIR best interest to try and stick it out, and you’re acting like a spoiled three-year-old throwing a tantrum because all of the lollypops are gone.
Want to act like a thug? Strike.

Sorry Luv,

I've been contemplating this part of your post for a while now and can't figure it out, as I'm not the one setting up to tell everyone else, who have decided on their own if it is in their best interest to stay or to go, that I have decided they HAVE to go (OR stay).
