The local NYC newsradio station (WCBS-AM 880) is saying Jetblue is scheduled to start service from White Plains soon....perhaps as soon as March. The story briefly interviewed Andy Spano, Westchester County executive, for comment.

Story mentioned Florida and perhaps Chicago as service points.

Talk about a full new york service LGA,JFK,EWR,STU(stewart I don't know the code), and now HPN.

Newburgh=SWF 🙂

Interesting... the thing about HPN is that all the airport employees are county workers, not employees of the airline. Flew out of there once to CVG as it was the only fare that was decent for a last-minute Thanksgiving trip. Long lines, unmotivated employees.

False. All airport workers at HPN are not county
employees. If Jet Blue wishes to bring in their own
ticket counter/gate agents there are free to do so.
Ramp work is done by same county vendor for all airlines.

As for your thansgiving trip what airport does not have
long lines.

My, what a friendly sort you are...

Actually, now that I recall, it wasn't Thanksgiving nor a US holiday at all. It just didn't seem to be set up very well (small lobby + pre-screening/hand-searching of each bag before even getting to the counter, IIRC). Back in my airline days (not at HPN), having county employees was the rule (above and below the wing), but that was in the late 80s/early 90s. When did that change? Or maybe it was never true.

At one time US had their own employees at HPN as well. 🙁

Well, while they are at it, When will Teterboro service start? Or start service from Battery Park, A320 retrofitted with "water-skis".
