Who May or May Not Call?
Who is covered by the National Do Not Call Registry?

The National Do Not Call Registry applies to any plan, program, or campaign to sell goods or services through interstate phone calls. This includes telemarketers who solicit consumers, often on behalf of third party sellers. It also includes sellers who provide, offer to provide, or arrange to provide goods or services to consumers in exchange for payment.

FILE A COMPLAINT
To file a complaint now, your phone number must have been on the registry for 31 days.

To file a complaint, we need the date you got the call, and either the name or telephone number of the company that called you.

*Reminder: Even if your number is registered, companies with which you do business may continue to call you. So may charities, political organizations, and telephone surveyors. Click Here for more information about the companies that may continue to call the numbers on the registry.
Click on Privacy and Security to learn how the information you provide is used.

Attention sellers and telemarketers: Go to https://telemarketing.donotcall.gov to subscribe to the National Do Not Call Registry.

There are several loopholes to the do-not-call list, including companies/organizations you have done business with in the recent past. The merger may clear the IBT to make calls, but I am not a trade lawyer, so there is really no way to tell.

If you have ever been part of a union, then you have given your information to them for record keeping and contact information. If you were a member of a union and are not now, then you should contact them and withdraw your information. Most people who change jobs and are not part of a union any longer, don't "withdraw" from the union officially, so they are still part of the unions registry. If you get a call then tell them you want to be removed from their call list. They are required to comply. 🙂
