Stephen Colbert mocks Rand Paul for literally running away from the immigration questionGlenn Quagmire said:I truly believe that a libertarian leaning republican has a better shot than any tea party or neoconservative.
Watch out for Rand Paul. He has a chance at appealing to the young republicans and working class democrats (blue dogs).
Glenn Quagmire said:He would have to somehow get the Republican nod. Highly unlikely.
I do know that neoconservative and tea party are opposite in some respect. The problem with the tea party is people like Palin, Bachmann, and other lunatic fringe. Paul has to harness those that don't want to be associated with them, while also getting the support of those same loons. All the while getting bombed from the Republican special interest machine. Oh, and the Democratic opposition.

The center is where elections are won, not on the right or left. Run a Cruz or Ryan at your own risk. I'm pretty sure they will go down in flames. Get a moderate on the ticket and you might have a chance. Of course a of this is moot if the GOP does not ditch all the extreme social BS. Keep that on the platform and they will lose again.PHXConx said:romney was a neocon powerhouse... he was a republican governor of a classical liberal state...
he put in romney care...
and tahts what killed him, we didnt want the guy as president, who created a health care system that obama care was based on, we didnt want obama care...
the republcans need to stop going to the middle, and embrace the right, conservative part of the party... the american people want a difference in parties not progressive, and progressive lite..

Best thing Aqua Buddha did was to run. Being associated with that nut job from Iowa was a lose lose. Doing a hit job interview is far worse than running from one and controlling the after message.xUT said:

Don't know about Herman, but Rick Perry's looking pretty presidential lately.
That said, I don't expect the race for 2016 to really start until a year from now. It will be more fun watching Biden and Clinton angling for the Dem's nod.
I sure hope so! He's siting on 357 Bills pass by the House!-------- Reason why nothing get's done in Congress? Look no further than Harry Reid!!!eolesen said:I'm guessing you haven't been paying attention to the election results. Every GOP senator seeking re-election has won their primary.
You seem to think the Tea Party challengers are driving the agenda, but aside from the guy who beat Eric Cantor, they're not. And Cantor didn't bother to do any real campaigning, so he deserved to lose...
The Senate? It's not over until November, but so far, all of the math is leading to Harry Reid being bumped from his chair.
