Fleet Service has a buyout in their final offer contract. I am not fleet service, but I believe you have to be active in order to qaulify for the buyout.

I would call Human Resources. A CSA agent whom was on voluntary furlough had to come back the other day due to the fact that in the CWA contract , only active employees qualify.

If you are in the top 250 in seniority, are you of age to retire? If so, I would SEROUSLY crunch some numbers. I was of the age that I could retire....and because of PBGC and HCTC and medical coverage available until age 65, that was what I did. I figured the cash from the EO would pay for insurance for approx 3 yrs. (assuming U is around for the 2 1/2 yrs its gonna take you to get it). If you have a bunch of sick time (max allowed)...same deal. You have a few more days before the deadline. It was a hard choice...if I made the wrong one, PLEASE DON'T TELL ME!

so, does IAM have the option for EO with 5 yrs seniority? Does anyone have the numbers for the 21 stations that are avail for outsourcing? In particular RIC and MYR?

i am a fleet service and from what i have read of the final proposal is that you must have 15 yrs or more, be active or active and or in the military as a fleet service IAM member to qualify for the buyout package. sadly it is only for a total of 250 system wide from what i understand. may be someone can elaborate more for me if i messed up but this is what i have understood.

I am glad that US Airways recognizes the military for their service. I am currently on military duty, but do not have 15 years. So, not sure if I am furloughed or considered active or what. Also, thanks to all who participate in CRAF service. Your service may seem to go without notice, but not to us. Seeing you guys/gals actually makes me proud!
