IAM District Update on Coming Contract Talks

OMG...negotiation 101 @ WWW for 141 RD & the ND crew...

Video translation: We're screwed.

The current chief negotiator for UA wiped out IAM members at Alaska Airlines during their negotiations and 141 has RD taking a class at Winpisinger?!....Yikes!

We might as well strike now when there is only a 7.6% uneployment rate and still an economy.

Hope that class is teaching you how to negotiate with no leverage against a company that ultimately wants to outsource all.

Speaking from experience, since they have to deal with Doug McKeen, who was Glass' right hand man at US during both bankruptcies, they are in for a battle.

They might be in over their heads.

Wherever Doug has been he has pillaged, NW and US.

I can only speak from what I have learned from the new leaderships recent dealings with Glass and company during a recent arbitration. ND08 was not impressed, and from what I hear Glass and company got Bit##ed Slap##d?

Arbitration is way differant than negotiations, the IAM I know at US in the M&R ranks kicked ### in most arbitration cases.

Glass and McKeen the architects of NW's and US' Concessions are leading negotiations at UA, good luck.

No disrespect but Cohen is exactly where he belongs.

I have heard that United wants to dump Retirees health and filght benefits. Is this true?? I hope this is just a ploy.

Health benefits were already taken away in bankruptcy (at least for IAM). Those that retired pre-bankrupt have them but post bankrupt do not.

Not true ezchkin...I retired in 2006 and I have Blue Cross Blue Shield, I just have to pay more than pre-Esop retirees.

That's right, I stand corrected. I was thinking affordable health care. My friend also retired post bankrupt/esop her copay is $486 month.
