Well IAM was blamed for Eastern demise seem like they
have done it again ...

Yep and Frank Lorenzo was banned by two parts of the Government from every having anything to do with an airline.

Hmm, IAM , ALPA and TWU all go on strike at EAL, so I guess ALPA is just as guily as the IAM then.

Lets see a whole section of law was changed because of Frank Lorenzo's actions at CAL, Section 1113 and 1114 exsist because of his raping of the employees at CAL.

And a Federal Judge removed him from control of Texas Air Group and Eastern Airlines.

The Department of Justice and Department of Transportation has banned him from the Airline Industry.

Don't let the facts get in your way of posting.

Overtime was called for ramp on the 25th, then was canceled, but dont let that get in your way of putting the blame on the IAM.

NO, the COMPANY called for overtime, then the COMPANY canceled it. The IAM or any union for that matter, does not have any say when or if overtime is offered. So it looks as if the company felt they didn't the extra people.
 
Just how does the co. call out for overtime in your craft? Do they call you at home, CBS, memo? And if you can, can you put a name with the call out? I think the rest of us would like to know.
 
Lets not overlook the fact that the PHL ramp is short by some 70+ employees in the first place. The company can't even fill those positions due the the low starting wages. Then add in their wonderful idea of paying 1/2 of a days wage when you are out sick starting next year, and you have a recipie for disaster. You can only screw the employees so much before they have had enough. I know several people who work the PHL ramp, and they have been working like dogs due to the staffing problems.
 
not to worry wings396 as soon as the guest worker program is fully implemented there will be plenty of folks lining up for $7.00 an hour part time jobs, and when aircraft maintenance is farmed out to the lowest hack shop bidder this is one mechanic who will express mail his certificates to OK city. I will not give my skills for side walk whore wages, there is something wrong when a delivery truck driver commands more $$$$$$$$$$ than a licensed A&P!
