Just how does the co. call out for overtime in your craft? Do they call you at home, CBS, memo? And if you can, can you put a name with the call out? I think the rest of us would like to know.

I am a mechanic, and don't know all the in's and out's of the rampers overtime call list.

not to worry wings396 as soon as the guest worker program is fully implemented there will be plenty of folks lining up for $7.00 an hour part time jobs, and when aircraft maintenance is farmed out to the lowest hack shop bidder this is one mechanic who will express mail his certificates to OK city. I will not give my skills for side walk whore wages, there is something wrong when a delivery truck driver commands more $$$$$$$$$$ than a licensed A&P!

My thoughts also, sometimes I think the sidewalk whores have it better then us, at least they can choose who screws them.

its all iam fault ; that is the reason the iam got kicked out from all airlines, but the IAM DO NOT GET IT.

EXEMPLO:

all mechs get the same compensation at usair; ( gse,plant maint,shops,avionics,line maint,overhaul) get paid the same but the skills and knowladge is totally disproportional, many do not use their license for their jobs.
? what does gse,fiberglass ,interior etc ,etc shops know about aircraft,or; how to handle PIWRUPS, but they get paid the same. guess what; a new hire mech( with 10+yr xp)to start, gets paid less thant a 5 year utility or stores clerk; TO ME THAT IS AN INSULT TO MY SKILL my PROFESION AND I TAKE VERY PERSONAL.

where is the iam, WHY ARE'NT WE NEGOCIATING ; are we waiting for the judge to abrogate our contract in full ,so we can save utility (dues for the iam)

How many times do you want the IAM, or any union for that matter, to give back what you must not believe you deserve? If you want to be under paid for the next nine years or more, be my guest, but please do us all a favor and volunteer your labor somewhere else.

i for one am insulted by your classifaction of composite techs with the rest of the list. you spout off technical stuff but you line guys are a dime a dozen, why does line maintance planning have to route an aircraft to a certan station to do a simple composite repair. Heres my list of technical stuff for you to answer what is 3k-70-pw, what is BOLDS, whats is hrh10-1/8-4, bms5-101. you guys are the reason we have a job, prying at composite panels and flight controls like they are metal half our work is mechanic inflicked
