Invol Furloughs..call Backs To Phx?

I think what Parker & Lakefield said was that someone furloughed on one side should not be able to displace an active employee on the other side - I can dig out the exact quote if anyone wants.

In other words, they said that if you don't have a job on day 1, you can't "claim" an active employees job just because they are junior to you.

This is correct and the way it should be - The incorrect statement is that if you don't have a job on day one then you dont have a job.

I know someone in FA training here in phx and if US EAST furloughed fa's accept a position here in phx you would have to go thru the whole training as in inital training since you would have to learn our policies and procedures. I don't think that is managements decision but more the FAA. Sory if that is not what you wanted to hear. I have no idea about hotels. When that happens which I think it would happen in the early part of next year we can help you guys find places to stay if they aren't going to accomadate you guys.

That is nice of you, I found it kind of odd that they didn't put people in hotels since most other airlines do, but I guess most other airlines hire for more than the "hometown" base since most airlines have 3 to 15 bases.. It shouldn't be that hard to find a place though - It is cheap too -

I would think in this special situation they would put up the F/As (it's the least they could do for that group and all they've been through!) Unless they are trying to get them to not come, but this is HP and not US we are talking about.

If not, PHX is extremely cheap and alot of people would be moving there or setting up crash pads anyway, but it would be nice to not have to worry about that until after training.

Happy People, that's very nice of you to offer that to the F/As... these invol F/As are an awesome bunch. Assuming it will be pretty much the same ones that participated in the company's "MidAtlantic" fiasco. They represent the company very well and are really service-oriented, and despite the piss-poor treatment they are a bit less jaded than the active folks.

When are they going to release more details of this? I know a few people at MAA that would like to just take the voluntary furlough and move to PHX as soon as possible.

Phoenix is so cheap its ridiculous! If I hear about training or anything I will let you know. And if east fa's need anyhelp we can set up a system to help you guys get around and figure things out. I know of a huge group of fa's that would be willing to show the East the ropes around town and the company. I know we can set everyone up with a buddy like the bigsisters and brothers except we will give all the east fa's a west fa buddy. And that way that person has someone to call if they have a question or need something.
