Iraq Collapsing

Then if your life was put at risk for a useless war that accomplished nothing why are you so willing to sacrifice other people for something equally as useless?

No I have never served.  I have various physical issues that preclude my service.

How convienient.   Were you ever called up?

What do you thinkTree? Do you really believe if we do nothing, the bad guys will just go away and leave us alone? We have our Southern boarder wide open. ----- Thousands of illegals pouring in while Obama goes on found raisers, shooting pool, drinking beer. He thinks all our problems can be solved by throughing  money at it! ----- Do you really believe everyone of those illegals are from "South, Central" America? ------ So what's your plan Tree?-------- Do nothing and see what happens? Iraq is lost! And with Obama in charge, Afghanistan will be next?? --------- Liston tree, something I've learned a long time ago, "freedom is not free"! There is a price to be paid to keep it! If you are unwilling to pay that price, there's a good chance you'll loose it! I don't want to see anyone's son sent into harms way, but this isn't a perfect world!

How about you 7? ------When's the last time you fired a gun?
Great reminder. I'm overdue for some shotgun practice.

Shooting clays is far more enjoyable & rewarding, but harder to photograph...

You do not even know me and you say my health issues are convenient?  What else does your crystal ball tell you?  Draft was over when I came of age.

Nope they will not.  I am asking you how you want to stop it.  The point being is I do not think we can, especially not by putting boots on the ground.  It has not worked in the past and I do not see why it should work in the future.

Not sure what the immigration problem has to do with the terrorists coming out of the ME.  As far as boarder security is concerned let me ask you this.  How secure do you think Israels border is?  I would venture to say it is quite secure and yet they still have a attacks on a regular basis.  There will always be a smarter mouse for any trap you build.  Better not to leave food out for the mouse.

You want to stop the immigration problem?  Stop worrying about building a better trap.  Stop leaving the food out on the table.  Have the GOP pass a law saying that is a company on US soil is caught with a undocumented worker on their property it will cost them $10,000.  Set up a data base where an employer can plug in a SS, ITIN, Visa  number or
what ever else they have to see if they are legal to work in the US.  If there are no jobs to be had what do you think will happen?  Next question is why do you think neither party has put a proposal like that forward?  Think out side the box.  Building walls don't work.  There are easier and more cost effective ways to do this.
Iraq was lost on Mar 20, 2003.  No plan, no forethought.  Nothing was going to change that.  Even Megan Kelly figured that out.

No argument there.  Nothing is free.  That does not mean that you keep doing the same stupid thing when it has been shown time and time again that it does not work.  Korea, Viet Nam, Kosovo, Mogadishu.  Short of a full on war al la WWII, military intervention has been shown not to work.

I have already said I do not have an answer.  You seem to be saying you have a plan ... so what is it?

Uh, that already exists... e-Verify. Requiring everyone to possess a state-issued photo ID showing their work authorization would go a long way, too.

But we know how much the Democrats like photo ID, fences, and e-Verify...

I think it is interesting that people can look at 9/11 and at US actions through out the world and say that we have no culpability.

Terrorists need to be stopped?  How?  Israel has been trying for 60 years and have not had any luck.  Short of going in to the ME and slaughtering millions of people how do you plan on accomplishing this?  Do you plan on taking over the oil fields as well because I doubt anyone over there will be selling us oil when we invade and occupy the ME.  It took over 500,000 troops just top get Iraq somewhat settled.  How many troops do you think it would take to invade Iran, Saudi Arabia, Yemmen, Quatar, Syria and a few others?  How much money?

Saying that we need to stop the terrorists is a nice talking point and sounds really good on TV but the truth is in the pudding.  So what's your plan?
My plan? Supporting plans like this:

The Five Pickens Principles of Energy
July 10 2014

As we celebrate the 6th anniversary of the Pickens Plan, I’ve come up with a great way to summarize what we should focus on to ensure we continue to make progress in achieving the goal of greater energy security for our nation.

Remember, a key objective is eliminating once and for all the national security and economic threats posed by our dependence on OPEC oil.

I think it’s important to share these basic principles with you, so you can make your voice heard in the upcoming election. I call them “The Five Pickens Principles of Energy.”

The principles are:

1. Clear responsibility and accountability for energy decisions.
2. Inject real fuel competition into the transportation mix.
3. Meet our own energy needs before we worry about other countries.
4. Pursue a North American Energy Alliance.
5. Remember: Energy is not a free market.

Educating our political leaders at all levels is important, and I’m hoping you will be a part of that. To help with that, I need you to watch this video as I briefly explain each of the principles to CBS News.

If you’re with me on securing North America’s energy future, these Five Pickens Principles of Energy can help your family, friends, colleagues, and neighbors understand what we’ve been working so hard to accomplish. Please share this video with them.

BTW, there is nothing the US did to justify 9/11. NOTHING!!!

Regarding #3. Do you plan on nationalizing the US oil reserves? If not, how do you plan on preventing the oil companies from selling to the highest bidders.

How do you plan on introducing this "real fuel competition" into the mix?

So the US was just attired for the hell of it? Our actions in the ME proving up dictators had nothing to do with it?

Tree, nether one of us has the total answer. But I'm a big fan of Teddy .Roosevelt. " Speak softly, but carry a big stick!" I fell getting involved with Iraq was a mistake in the first place, but Obama has had six years to provide leadership and turn that around. But has done nothing but shrink our Armed Forces down to levels of where it is was before WWII.------ You spoke of Israel, did you know. that "all" able body men, and women, have to serve in the military! ------- That my friend would be the first thing I would do. Make it monitory to serve at least two years straight out of High School, or collage! Second, I would support a Constitutional Amendment requiring any future President to have served in the military! Third,  I would secure our Southern board by sending the National Guide down to assist the boarder patrol. I agree, a wall,or fence will not totally stop all illegals! At best it would slow them down in populated areas. I would use drowns to cover areas where walls are not practical. I would request the Navy to provide river boats, similar to what they used in southern Vietnam, to patrol the Rio Grand. And last, but not least I would enforce the Laws already on the books and turn back all illegals, back into Mexico, and let them deal with them! ------ Now, as soon as word would get out about these changes, I believe the flood of illegals would taper off to a trickle!----- Now, Obama what's Billions of $$$ to build holding facilities to house present, and future  illegals. with less than 10% going to secure the boarder. It now it has been reported that the Feds. are putting illegals on commercial aircraft with nothing more than their deportation paper work for I.D.! This maybe the same Aircraft we are using to fly our family's on.----- Do you, or your family have any plans fly this summer Tree? Hope that illegal's name is not Mohamed tree, because not all illegals are Latino!------ You stated you want the Republicans to pass legislation to fix some of these problems, yet over 40 bills have passed the Republican House are now, and have been, sitting on Senator Majority Leader Reid's disk,  waiting to be brought up for a vote, yet he refuses to do so! ----- Why is that Tree? Could it have to do with an election coming up shortly? Is he putting politics in front of the good of the people again?

Something like 84% of illegals crossing the last few years are Other Than Mexicans. Someone is taking advantage besides the Mex and SA drug cartels.

Israels problems stem from rockets and bombs, some come over the fence others go under.

You are going to have to be more specific in regards to military ‘level’.  Size, fire power, budget, man power …?
Israel is in a war.  Of course there are going to have mandatory service.  So did the US during war.  My reference to Israel had nothing to do with the military but the border security which is what were talking about.
Everything I have read says that the commanders in the military do not want a draft as we are not in a war, the cost would be prohibitive and moral would plummet.
I see no benefit of having a presidential requirement to have served.  I would rather see a requirement for business or economics as that is more important in my opinion.
I would rather enforce the employment laws and levy a harsh penalty for business that do not comply.  US would make money instead of tossing it down a black hole of a fence.  Why spend money on assets when you can dry up the drinking well and eliminate the incentive to come in the first place?
Not sure about the 40 bills thing.  I looked and could not find any supporting documentation.  I did find info on 30 jobs bills (actually 27) and most of the bills either gut regulations or do not produce any jobs.  It is always about politics.  Republicans and Dems do the same BS depending on who’s in power.   Why do you think so many court positions are open?  It’s politics.
Mohamend or McVey will get on my plane with our without a wall.  The only thing that will stop them is better airport security.  Not some silly wall.

According to DHS in 2009 (latest data I could find) 62% are Mexican with others making up less than 5% of each nationality.  Where are you getting your information?  A lot of the drugs are coming by semi submersible subs and trucks or under the border through tunnels.  They are not being lugged across the border by foot traffic.

Yes Israel does have rocket attacks but they also have a significant number of suicide bombers and kidnappings so people are crossing their fortified wall.  You think the US can do it better over a 1,700 mile border?

I do not support confiscation of wealth.
However, when it comes to Natural Resources I think we need to stop the crony capitalist deals that allow companies to aquire these minerals and oil without just compensation to we the people. Natural resources belong to all of us and an appropriate recovery for the depletion of these resources should be paid directly to the owners of the country. That's you and me folks
