i was looking on justplanenews.com and saw that some flights from pittsburgh to little cities have begun again like a year later.
i think pittsburgh could come back to be what it was and hope it gets it hub status back.
i think pittsburgh deserves to be a hub, as a nice airport, big airport, it deserves some international flights

Things might be getting better at LCC, but I can guarantee that PIT will never be a mainline hub for LCC ever again. Those days are over.

Yes, PIT is a great airport. Huge. Lotsa space, lotsa shopping, lotsa gates.

Only thing PIT lacks is sufficient O&D traffic to support a mainline hub. PIT just isn't that big a metro area.

Neither is MEM or MSP or SLC or CVG, and those cities are gonna see their nonstop service reduced as well with the NW and DL bankruptcies.

As has been oft-repeated, PHL has the O&D traffic, just not a proper airport for a large hub. PIT has the proper airport, but not enough O&D traffic to support a PHL-sized hub.
