Is GE the light at the end of the tunnel for US Airways? (01/03/2005)

By Andrew Compart

WASHINGTON -- General Electric, which is involved in aircraft leasing and financing, could have a significant role in determining the fate of US Airways and Independence Air, and at least one Wall Street analyst believes GE’s financial self-interest will lead it to favor US Airways.

I will predict that both PSA and MDA will be bought by DL if US liquidates. GECAS has most of the backing on the jets that both are/were receiving and DL just refinanced A LOT with GECAS. Oh, gee, and didn't Republic just start E170 flights with DL as well?

MDA is not a seperate company it operates off the Mainline Certification.

PSA has its own operating certificate.
