Is it true that United is outsourcing?

I don't know if it is true or not but "Did United outsource their Cargo agents at ORD and outsource the ramp agents as well?" I don't know if this is a rumor or not but word is floating around.

Yeah a buddy of mine at Ord told me they are outsourcing product sort (the baggage area). Don't know how true that is. It wouldn't surprise me either because they outsourced fueling to Servisair in Nov of 05. Screwed everyone that was fueling for years. Imagine a old timer coming back to work the ramp after fueling for a long time. What doesn't make sense to me is why outsource? To save money sure. If that is the case they could have kept United Express to Air Wisconsin instead of having our people do it (United Ramp). Isn't it the same philosophy? Watch another deal bite the dust. :down:

Yes. And many other (if not all) cargo facilities as part of the T/A that was ratified during BK.

UA is going to sell off the entire cargo operations anyway.

United never really focused on the revenue side of cargo. Only the costs.

Maybe if UA outsourced it's Management--we'd be more profitable. I mean they're so good at cutting costs to the detriment of revenue, I would think that another potentially profitable Company could use them to prevent profitability from happening. Profitability and quality are such a horrible ideas anyhow... So '50's ish...

Tilton, et al. are already outsourced. They do not work for or have the airline's interests at heart. Their motto has always been...Rape, Pillage, Plunder and Pull Out! If they every wanted to run the business, they would be doing it. They simply want to look for ways to streamline and take seats out of the air calling it "Consolidation". This is called white collar crime. Stealing from the workers and taking away the jobs through outsourcing achieves two things: lower costs and taking power away from the Unions rendering them ineffective. This is all part of the big picture called "Globalization" which Clinton did when he signed NAFTA. I could go on, but you have the idea. You can take it from here. Also, a change in political parties in this country is not going to change things one iota. There is an awful lot of corporate money backing Hillary. Taking our jobs and putting them in India, Indonesia, Mexico, Poland, etc. has enabled these countries to fight terrorism around the world.

THANKS EVERYONE FOR YOUR INPUT ON THIS MATTER!! IT'S SAD THAT UAL MANGEMENT IS DOING THIS TO THIER WORKERS. THEY SHOULD LOOK AT OTHER WAYS TO SAVE MONEY.
