Is It True?

BBB knows the DM program and if he is
leaving for Spirit Airlines, it's probably a
good bet they are developing their own
FF program and need someone who
will ensure the FF doesn't get more than
is deserved.

Shouldn't Glass be leaving soon too? All the unions are weakened, the employees are demoralised so isn't his work here done?

No. It is reported that some employees still have gold fillings in their teeth.

Baldanza was brought in by Wolf and Gangwal.

He was the public face of the DM program changes that were announced in August, 2002 and later rescinded. Ben became the target of anger from customers who began the "Cockroaches".

That being said, Ben knows his stuff. He understands the finances of the industry and can explain the macroeconomics in laymen's terms.

Bruce Ashby could become the next executive vp of marketing, which would be a good move. Ashby is currently senior vp of corporate development, alliances, and express.

For the last six months Ashby has lead all of the labor negotiations and this work is now complete. With the Star, United, & regional airline alliance integrations complete, express changes for MDA, PSA, & Allegheny/Piedmont complete, Ashby can now return to his marketing roots.

There could be other positive news regarding US Airways senior officer changes in the not-so-distant future.

Siegel, Cohen, & Baldanza all worked out Northwest and Davis was brought in by Siegel. It appears Siegel's team is beginning to be dismantled.

If it's true it could also mean that he can see the iceburg ahead. He may be lowering the life raft and getting off the boat before it sinks.

The company and the ATSB will reach another agreement, which could be announced tomorrow or Wednesday. The company will also negotiate terms for the GE $100 million in additional liquidity.

See Story

There is a Board meeting on Wednesday and a court hearing on Thursday and the docket includes the ATSB/GE deals.

The IAM is expected to ratify their agreements on Jan. 21 and the court will extend the exclusive period to file a POR on Jan. 27. The POR will be filed on February 15.

Ashby did not led all Labor negotiations, he led ALPA and AFA negotiations, he was not involved with CWA, IAM nor the TWU.

And Asbhy will be replacing Lakefield upon bankruptcy emergence.

And Ben worked for Taca before. He really knows the Latin America market well, and is probably one of the reasons US is expanding there.

I don't think that his departure is necessarily a good thing.

Now if Glass or Crellin were leaving, it'd be a different story.

Ashby was directly involved in every negotiation and he set the terms of each agreement or final proposal.

Ashby is a candidate for the CEO job, but a leading candidate is Brian Bedford. Lakefield will remain on for a period of time following bankruptcy emergence to create a smooth transition.

Following emergence and full Transformation Plan implementation, US Airways will have a CASM lower than Southwest and AirTran, but higher than jetBlue Airways.

Umm, now this is an optimistic comment. Great if true, but I seriously doubt it will ever happen.

He did not such thing with the IAM, CWA or TWU, the IAM talks were led by Doug Mckeen under the auspice of Glass.

CWA was led by Al Hemenway and Glass.

You were not there, so I guess you did not know that.

Glass and Lakefield set the final terms, and that was according to Mr Lakefield on last Friday, did not see you talking to him.

US Airways' entrance into the Caribbean & Latin America was an idea brought to senior management by Marketing Department analysts. This was not a senior management idea, but the move has been very important to US Airways and is the company's "crown jewel".

There is a Board of Directors meeting on Wednesday -- expect some more corporate announcements following the meeting.

Ashby had the final say on every agreement or proposal. He was in charge of all negotiations.

Were you there?

Jerry Glass SR VP OF LABOR RELATIONS was in charge, he was at the meetings with Robert Roach, not Ashby. Ashby had NOTHING to do with anyother groups except ALPA and AFA, why don't you go ask him yourself!

Why don't you finally admit you are wrong, I was there, you were not.

LOL!

And management STILL wouldn't be able to get a profit out of this turkey even if it were true.
