I can't believe they stuck it out as long as they did.
I'm still hanging-in, but it is tough. If i weren't trapped in PHL I'd be long -gone.
Here are some illustrations of why people are fleeing....
Reservations made on the US1 line no longer generate an email confirmation. A
big PITA since these can be used to easily arrange transportation at the destination and to get reimbursement for the flight...as well as confirming that shares didn't f/u my reservation....which it just did today.
I need to go PHL -SFO in a month or so. A long-a$$ flight, so I want to be sure I'm up front. I'm happy to burn miles to get upgraded, but there are no seats freed-up for upgrade even though there are >50% of the F seats open. What's worse, the RT lowest coach fare is >$800.... LCC my a$$.
E70s to DFW and IAH.
Orbitz has cheaper US fares than the US website or the CP line.
Is any one of these a loyalty-breaker? No, but the aggregate of annoyances is too high.
Sure some things are starting to turn around, but I still sense a big lack of respect for the freq flier. I spend about $75K at Usairways each year. Amazes me that they don't care. If UAL had a few more direct flights out of PHL I'd be gone.
