It seems like there are fewer posts lately from the frequent flyers. Anybody at ticketing notice a drop off too? 😱

Not a drop off in ticketing. We're getting more deals than before that require an agent (MNL keeps me busy), more people who dont have internet or a credit card than before (booking at the ato or paying cash), more vouchers for screwups than before, but less frequent flyers (YES) than before. The people are still coming, its just a different set and for a different reason.

I flew the ghetto reconfig 757 etops around today with 12 envoy seats and didn't fill the cabin once. Oh yeah, on one leg we self upgraded a deadheading crew. I have noticed a drop in FF's. Certainly. Ask yourself this for those wondering, "Would YOU stay"?

I can't believe they stuck it out as long as they did.

I'm still hanging-in, but it is tough. If i weren't trapped in PHL I'd be long -gone.

Here are some illustrations of why people are fleeing....

Reservations made on the US1 line no longer generate an email confirmation. A big PITA since these can be used to easily arrange transportation at the destination and to get reimbursement for the flight...as well as confirming that shares didn't f/u my reservation....which it just did today.

I need to go PHL -SFO in a month or so. A long-a$$ flight, so I want to be sure I'm up front. I'm happy to burn miles to get upgraded, but there are no seats freed-up for upgrade even though there are >50% of the F seats open. What's worse, the RT lowest coach fare is >$800.... LCC my a$$.

E70s to DFW and IAH.

Orbitz has cheaper US fares than the US website or the CP line.

Is any one of these a loyalty-breaker? No, but the aggregate of annoyances is too high.

Sure some things are starting to turn around, but I still sense a big lack of respect for the freq flier. I spend about $75K at Usairways each year. Amazes me that they don't care. If UAL had a few more direct flights out of PHL I'd be gone.

As well as MSY and MCI. PHL to IAH is rediculous in a tight pitch 175.

Hmmm isn't it funny how the company says that they can't always turn a profit with full planes and cheap tickets? So let's see, your FF's that pour millions into your company are leaving and now leave a cabin to fill with first up folks and cheaper seats in the back. How will this company EVER make it. It's not rocket science. Oh how some think.

I am on UA today. I just can't trust US to get me where I need to go reliably at the moment.

But I am not alone. Many of my fellow FFOCUS'ers have had enough. The worst part is HOW they are handled and treated after an irregular operation...in one case, the Chairmans' Desk told a customer he was "wasting his breath" when he requested to be reaccommodated on another carrier--on a flight which US cancelled and then reinstated WITHOUT notifying the customer.

I am concerned for all my friends at US' front line as well as for our members and other customers--I think the place is about to implode.

Hmmm...good question. I'd like to have a job with some of their employers, especially if I book myself from PHL-ABQ with a change of planes in ORD or DFW versus a nonstop out of PHL because I was upset with the FF program. I guess my employer values my time, or they must be so cheap as to be unwilling to eat the hours I'm spending in a hub airport changing planes. I don't travel for the job nearly as much as I did...but when I was on the road every week, the general rule was...if there's a nonstop flight - take it...and if you don't, you'd better have a damn good reason why you aren't. And..."I don't like their FF program" wasn't a good reason.

My parents were just victims of an irregular op today on their way to SLC, due to "weather." They were re-booked by a very friendly agent for tomorrow AM AVP-PHL on US, connecting to a DL flight to SLC, since all US and UA flights are full. Oh, by the way....they were flying UA, not US, and it was a UA agent who re-booked them on two competitive carriers!!!
