The deal is as good as dead. The creditors are not liking something about the money. So.... now things will get interesting.

No. "The" deal is dead. "A" deal is on the horizon. Come on, for those of you that have not been through a merger in the last 20 years...this is when things get interesting! Hang on for the ride of your life/career (both DAL and U!!!) Big money will not go quietly. Greeter.

Don't try reading any deeper than need be Walmartgreeter, this thing is a dead horse. 😀

On the surface, EVERYTHING that Tempe says sounds good....dig into the substance and you find out it is all a bunch of b/s. so, this is not really surprising.

still...i don't think it is over yet. you'll find out how badly they want DL and if there is a plan B.

I can only hope so, really!!! But past experience tells me otherwise. Things are not just going to "settle down" and go back to normal. At this point, being against any transaction, I would start to prefer the one I know vs. the unknown. Best to you. Greeter. (hoping I am dead wrong!)

Word from a chief Pilot in JFK is that Tempe may pre-empt its official Feb. 1 deadline later this week by pulling the offer off the table due to "debtor resistance". How true his statement was, tough to say, but it certainly seems like things have begun to happen behind the scenes.

While i am elated that the deal appears dead, i respect Mr. Parker's tenacity. If the deal had gone thru, he would go from CEO of the 6th largest US airline to the worlds biggest. Even by "losing" he wins because he made Delta sweeten its offer to the debtholders.

Now both airlines can get back to business, and they can start by taking care of the employees who have made all this possible.

Maybe Delta can, but I can assure you US Airways couldn't care less about the welfare of their employees. This thing craps out and you guys at Delta can breath easier.

"Oppressive" is about the only word I can think of to describe current life here at US Airways.

A320 Driver 🙁

I think that describes most airline careers over the past several years, the notable exception being WN.
