OK for DEC there were close to 350 secondary lines for PHL. Now for JAN there are only 239. Unless im mistaken, I dont think there were any schedule changes for JAN.

Does anyone care to explain how there are 111 less blocks to choose from? I know most sec lines are based on what primary lineholders SAP, but cmon!!

Well, my guess would be that it has to do with the number of people that took the leaves for January.

The company is still NOT smart enough to realize that the more trips you already have covered the less reserve coverage you need. That being said.....

It was once explained to me that it is done by computer program. The system will only build lines until there is a certain percentage of reserves (regardless of how much open time there is).

In other words, it will build blocks until it has 17% reserve (I think that is the % now) left. There were more blocks in Dec because you had NO LEAVES..hence 116 more reserves were available....allowing MORE lines to be built.

If this is infact how it is. Secondary lines will not go any further back than Jan for the rest of the winter.

That is until the company opens their stupid eyes and gets a clue.

Make sense...please correct if I am wrong

From what I understand the computer is "told" to build lines between X hours and stop at X hours. I the past the parameters were 90-75, for the month of Jan07 the company agreed (discussed in PHL LEC meeting) to build lines between 90-70, five hours lower than usual and we were told that with the December information it produced and additional 150 lines.

What we see for January is using the formula of 90-70 so the company did just what they agreed they would. I did notice the base lost 3,978 Hours and 34 minutes of time for January compared to December so I’m sure this had some result in there being less open time to build lines with once drops were completed.

Why the company won’t just build the lines between 80-70 and let more people have lines, (TA 767 average line is only 75 hours for Jan). Then they can have more trips with names on them, and anyone who wants to add time has the ability to pick-up ETB, and those who want to drop the ability to use the board is beyond me!

We have people living in the crewroom and sleeping on parked aircraft because they can pay their bills as it is. Does someone have to commit suicide before anything changes? People can’t make ends meet on 40 hours a month!

I went to the union meeting(the part 2 "recall" of LA)and it was mentioned that for November resrves were at 23.5 percent. Now I know the agreement is 17% and won't be exactly. So maybe 17.8 or 16.9 would be reasonable tolerances. How is 23% even close to the agreed-upon number of 17%???? How is this allowed? What will the reserve numbers be for Jan??
Where is our union representation??
Anyone...anyone....Bueller?

There is nothing in the contract that talks about the % of reserve that the company can have…this is a company made up #. United is higher I’m told.

It’s just wrong we don’t need that many…LTO was not designed to work with that many people. “Hey Hey, Ho Ho, LTO has got to go!â€￾

you are not getting paid 40 hrs. min is 73 hrs. per month...if it's that bad that your living in the nasty un safe crew room one would think it's time to re think your life or get a part time job or p/u ETB time...or what about this thought move to base...I am so sick of all the whinning...if you want the job move to where the job is or leave...you have a choice...ask anyone that did move to base and they will tell you there lifestyle improved 100% it's only a matter of time someone is going to get hurt sleeping in that NASTY crewroom...ant the company let's it happen...sounds like a law suit in the works to me...

Bull are you a RSVB or a BH?

While it is easy to say someone should live in base its not required, I believe that if it were, half of the folks that have this job would be gone, agree? I am well aware that the guarantee is 73 hours. For many people, that translates into $1524.24 in GROSS pay for a month. Can you live on that? Philadelphia main line McDonalds starting pay is more than what our people are getting paid. Also, the idea of getting a PT job is out the window with the LTO reserve system. I challenge you bid reserve and then post your experience here…bet you’ll change your tune

I DO live in base. Why should I have to give up my off and vacation days to see some semblance of a check?? I had to give up my part time job in Nov of f*cking 2004 because I went on reserve. The odometer will be rolling over to 2007 and our illustrious union is still without a clue. I enjoy this job....just waiting for the people with 50-70 years of seniority to leave. But they won't because they never saved for retirement. The odds of me using a defibulator on a pax vs. fellow crewmember are NOT good. That would make for a GREAT moral debate

as for your answer's sir yes I am RSV yes I can live on that and yes I love the RSV system, worked 55 some hrs last month got paid 83 and change...that worked out to about 58.00 an hr. better than MESA co pilot pay or main line Mc Dees...BTW main line Mc Dees does not offer low cost health care like we have at LCC... it's not what it was but it's a great deal vs. getting good health care on your own...you have to factor this into the rate of a f/a vs a fry boy at Mc Dees of the two skill sets (kinda the same) I'll take the free money from LCC... I have worked at Mc Dees but like the airplane stinch vs. fried food...did I meet your challenge?
