Management doesn't need the union to send that message. They're doing a pretty good job of it themselves. Therefore they have a vested interest in making management out to be a bunch of greedy evildoers, a populist message that many of their members are eager to hear and ultimately internalize

Where'd you get these stats from?
Also Mr. Statistic,March 2006 -

March 2005 -
Maintenance delays per 100 departs - 9.4

I would say that $200M in annualized labor savings were well worth it, as obviously the performance has not sufferred with the replacement workforce.
Not this ignorant question again. How many times has this been hashed out on this board? Also Mr. Statistic,
how many a/c were operational March 2004 to 2005 verses March 2005 to 2006? I'm sure there was a big decline in August/September of 2005.
The results are a delay rate (per 100 departs), so A/C count is irrelevant. I.E., 10 delays on 100 departs is the same performance as 9 delays on 90 departs. Obviously, there were fewer departures in Mar-06 vs Mar-05, and there were proportionately fewer maintenance delays in Mar-06.Also Mr. Statistic,

The NWA internal web site (SOC). Unfortunately, access is limited.Finman--
Where'd you get these stats from? Can the "rest of us" at NW access them, and if so, where from?
Thanks,
Kevin--
if he didn't give the stat on a per departure basis, then you would cry foul based on the #of AC YOY.Also Mr. Statistic,

yawn.It has long been recognized by public men of all kinds . . . that statistics come under the head of lying, and that no lie is so false or inconclusive as that which is based on statistics. ~ Hilarie Belloc (The Silence of the Sea) ...![]()
