Hello. New here, "lurked" for a while, time to join in.

I find this fellow Jon Huntsman, to be a (somewhat) unusual republican.
He appears fiscally Sound, says what he thinks/feels, and leaves a lot of social issues(Not All), out of Government.
Not a bad combination in my opinion.
(Heck, anyone who rides a dirt bike can't be all bad)

Those twp beliefs alone will sink any hopes he has of a nomination. Not even sure why he is going for a republican ticket.

Well, a few things to consider. There's Perry, Bachman, Santorum and possibly Palin, all trying to out do each other to pull the party even further Right than it is already. Ron Paul has the "Rodney" ailment (No respect), Newts off on Vacation some where, Poor Mitt will always be the bridesmaid, not the bride and Herman's busy looking for Muslims. Meanwhile there are a Ton of Independents and Moderate republicans(especially Younger republicans) looking for a place to Go ! Did I mention republicans who do believe in either Evol. or GW or Both ?

Factor All that in, along with Nowhere to go on the Other side of the aisle, and I see a candidate that may be one who you "Ignore @ your own risk"

The deal breaker is that he was in President Obama's administration... 🙄

They are obviously apostate Republicans who are going to burn in eternal hell fire and be branded with a capital D on their foreheads so good Christian Republicans can avert their eyes and turn away when they pass.

The question then becomes, do the republicans you mentioned vote in primaries and if they do, do they vote in sufficient numbers to out number the whack jobs?

9.2% Unemployment
$3.75/gal gas
Credit downgrade
14.2 Trillion in debt and growing
in excess of 40 billion in new debt since 8/1/2011
fiat currency that inflates the cost of commodities, Obama's hidden food tax.

And the Republicans are all whack jobs? Well if the current POTUS is safe & same I'd hate to see a democrat whack job.

A truly amazing talent you have there. Do you think I may have been referring to a certain segment of the republican party as opposed to it's entirety? No of course not, that would not give you cause to post your same old tired BS day in and day out.

Perhaps you will re-read what I posted. I did mention two subsets of the republican voters. I mentioned the republican voters that tom was referring too. Then there is the subset of that subset (the number of voters he is referring to who would vote in a primary) and I mentioned the whack jobs as a second subset of the republican voting block. Simply reading what I wrote would clearly indicate that I did not say all republicans were whack jobs.

I do see how your interpretation works much better for you though. Carry on.

Couldn't "Bear" to stay away eh? How's the view from the gutter these days?

Well I found "this" to be a bit interesting. On the Sunday Talk show (ABC I think) JH said that were expecting to do Well in Fla.
Come to find out, Mrs. H is from the "heartbeat" of Fla. Orlando. I could se JH joining forces with a (say) Marco Rubio, who is another young "up and comer" in GOP politics. If the tired old electorate (probably most of us) were offered a " new look" in the GOP, I really think that A lot of people would take a long hard look ! Not too many former Governors can say that they had a darn near " 9 0 % " approval rating from one of the most conservative states in the country. That's got to count for something ! Stay tuned I say.
