Jon Huntsman

I can understand some people's apprehension towards Huntsman. But if say Romney "flames out" Again, where do the moderate republicans among us, not to mention the Indies, go? Obviously not over to the other side. I'm guessing Bachman wins Iowa, Perry will "breeze" in SC, but if Romney does not win NH decisively, and Hypothetically Huntsman goes on to win Fla, then I see a Major upset within the GOP. And again, poor old Ron Paul cannot "get any respect" ! By the way, when is the Fla. primary date...please.

My prediction is that Ron Paul, Cain, Newt, Santorum, Huntsman, and even Bachman will bearly be more than a footnote in three months. Palin? Dunno, but I think she is still eying Kyle's seat in Arizona...

I know it is an unbearable thought, but I see this race winding up being down to Perry and Mitt, unless there's a newly discovered love child with an atheist Transgender for either of those two...

Wouldn't it be nice to have the GOP nomination being a showdown at the convention?

Even though I am a bleeling-heart, liberal, pinko-communist, abortion-for-all, Democrat, I have always thought highly of Huntsman, and would have considered voting for him if he were the Republican candidate. However, in an interview with Piers Morgan on CNN he said that he would be willing to be Michele Bachmann's V-P running mate!!!!! He didn't say yes exactly, but when Piers asked the specific question more than once, he kept responding with "If you are asked to serve your country, you say yes."

That killed it for me. Yes, when asked to serve one's country, one says yes unless saying yes will violate your principles and your beliefs. If Huntsman feels that he has anything in common with MB other than they are both Americans and both Republicans, then there's a lot about that boy that I don't know.

Try a RINO Dude.... 😛

An exciting thought(a convention showdown), since it seems like forever that the Last time it occured. The Palin "saga" , well we'll have to wait-and-see as you suggest, and furthermore, your correct about half the field being an afterthought (perhaps) BEFORE super-tuesday.

I feel that Romney/NH will GREATLY shape the race early. For instance, IF Mitt does Not turn in a convincing Win in the Granite state, ALL bets are off as far as Huntsman "might" be concerned. The party, and the country for that matter is Crying out for a New fresh face/strategy, as opposed to the endless "Bashing" of each side against the other. I apologise for repeating myself, but being an Ultra successful Governor in The most Conservative state in the Union(with approval numbers that approached the "90 %" mark at one time), certainly has/had meaning for Jon H. Fairly or un-fairly, unlike Mitt/Massachusetts, I feel that the Morman/Obama's ambassador stuff won't stick on Jon H.

The more I see and hear Perry the less of a option he becomes. I think/hope it will be Romney. I do not agree with all his positions but he seems the most moderate aout of the lot of them and the most sane, not that thisi s sayig a great deal.

Or moderates.

Who are now called liberals.

When they are not called socialists.

Interesting observation. Another is that historically most think of Richard Nixon as sort of this Arch Conservative, paranoid man plotting against his rivals in the Oval Office.

However, it you look at legislation and such JFK was far more conservative than Nixon. In fact many who study these things say the Nixon was the most Liberal President ever elected and that includes the current President.

No such thing as a moderate conservative.

To me anyone who says, "I'm Middle of the road", "Moderate" or words to that effect are cowards as they have picked a side but don't want to piss anyone off. In politics there are no "Neutrals"! It's kind of like being an atheist in that you are one or you're not. Back in the 1930's a Coal Miner's wife, Florence Reece wrote a song titled "Which Side are you on". She wrote this song as the Sheriff and Gun thugs lie in wait for her union organizer husband Sam Reece. Her words articulate exactly what I mean,

Come all of you good workers,
Good news to you I’ll tell,
Of how that good old union
Has come in here to dwell.

cho: Which side are you on?
Which side are you on?
Which side are you on?
Which side are you on?

My daddy was a miner,
And I’m a miner’s son,
And I’ll stick with the union,
Till every battle’s won.

They say in Harlan County,
There are no neutrals there.
You’ll either be a union man,
Or a thug for J.H. Blair.

Oh, workers can you stand it?
Oh, tell me how you can.
Will you be a lousy scab,
Or will you be a man ?

Don’t scab for the bosses,
Don’t listen to their lies.
Us poor folks haven’t got a chance,
Unless we organize.

This coming form the person who has never, nor will ever, vote for the person who won an election. At least you can always claim, "I told you so." Or you can write a post on a blog claiming everyone who disagrees with you is a coward.

In your world, anyone who is not an extremist, is a coward?

What is an extremist?

Anyone who disagrees with progressives?

"Extremist" is Progressive speak for anyone who doesn't march in lockstep with their agenda. Never minding of course that nearly none of it strictly follows the Constitution.

I never said anyone who disagreed with me is a coward. Leftists like Maxine Waters, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid are not "Neutrals", we know which side they're on. Whether I like their side is frankly immaterial, you have to respect them because they are who they are and make no bones about it. Same with my least favorite Neo-Con Republican Rick Santorum. Love him, hate him he's been consistent.

All of the names mentioned grew a pair of balls somewhere along life's way as well as thick skin and a spine. I'm tired of Leaders who live by poll numbers. To me Mitt Romney is a textbook example of a no balls, no backbone vote grubbing politician, ditto John Kerry.

As for who I vote for it's a secret ballot and none of your business. Second I believe that voting you conscience is far more important then handicapping an election like it's some horse race or the Super Bowl.
