If you are in the top 200 of the current furlough list, I'd make sure that you have a current passport and you need to retrieve all your AA uniforms/drycleaned etc. Also, if you are currently flying for Eagle, I'd use up all your Eagle uniform points. You cannot transfer your AE uniform points once you are recalled. Use it or lose it. Also, I learned a little too late that you _do not_ accure company seniority during recall training or during your Eagle training. Do not forget to ask for a file review with your Eagle supervisor too. I was supposed to get one but did not know, and was not told by anyone the need to do so.
Also, if you can, ask working/current Fas in the three East Coast bases for a look at their bidsheets. Some of the recalled fas are kicking themselves for not carefully thinking and about which bases to go to out of training. You will be locked in for three months and although that may not seem like a long time, you may be there until the base of your choice opens up and you are senior enough to hold it. Think about what your priorities are, what your commute is going to be like, and what you can live with. If you have _never_ lived in the East coast, you might want to get a cheap ticket and spend a weekend at either New York, Boston or DCA. Take public transportation and see what it's like if you have driven all your life and have never gotten a Metrocard.
Good luck to all and don't lose hope.
