What's new

just worked 767 tail number N248AY

Let me see - do you think US went out and had custom made seats for Envoy like SQ or BA? Please. So these are probably standard seats from a seat manufacturer. Can someone give exact measurments of the seats. Here are the measurements from other legacy carriers:

Airline Pitch Width
AA
767-200 49-50" 18.5"
767-300/400 58-60" 18.5"
777 57-60" 20.0"

UA
767-300 ww1 55" 19"
767-300 ww2 50" 19" (lie flat)
777 55" 20.5"

CO
767-200 55" 21"
767-400 55 21"
777 55" 22"

DL
767-300 60" 18.5"
767-400 60" 18.5"
777 60" 21.0"

US offers 19.5" on the envoy seats on the 330's and was offering 18.5" on the old 767 (pre rehab).

Let's get the actual measurements before we crucify management again. It's probably more of a standard seat than we think.

Also the old 767's don't have the same room as a 777 or 330. From the pictures it does not look like there is space wasted taking away from the seats.

yeah, nevermind the pax who find them uncomfortable. what do they know, anyway? 🙄

Of course it's a "standard" seat. The swoosh team gets everything factory model and cheapest available. These are vintage 90's seats and probablt the cheapest available.

10 767s. 180 Business Class seats. And they still f it up.

It's kinda rich for anyone from the west to talk about "crappy planes"... are you kidding me? While we are at it, how many widebodies did you bring, "crappy" or not?

we are fixing your crappy old planes and somehow it is all worse??
Give me a freakin break!

Wow, you are delusional....fixing the planes? If you call "fixing" making them worse, then yes, I guess you are.

By the way, I flew a CO 757 in BF domestically last week and it blows US out of the water.

Honey, you know they didn't want to be the only joke to go down in airline history.

What's the seat width compared to the old ones? I don't understand how the cabin can look more cluttered than before if there are fewer seats. Maybe they should remove one from each center to make it a 2x1x2 config. That's what AA did when they had their "coffin" lie flat seats up front in the 767-300s a few years back (they are coming back to the front of their 762's, BTW)
For anyone who has worked the 767, the 2-1-2 configuration was/is the BEST set-up. Why? First of all, the alignment of seats creates a more spacious cabin and has more of a WOW factor. (The "WOW" we get out of Team Tempe is anything but a GOOD One.........more like a DUD!) Secondly, not everyone sitting in a Premium cabin is travelling WITH someone and would relish the privacy of a SINGLE SEAT (that's the ONE in the 2-1-2 setup) and this allows them the opportunity to do what they want, when they want, without peering eyes looking over their actions or being subjected to some babbling fool who wants to engage in nonsense conversation. (I just flew on a RJ and had to endure some woman with diaherria of the mouth, a nonstop twirling leg and ice chumping to boot. After about 5minutes of this BS, I put my coat over my head and forced myself into a nap........instead of counting sheep, I privately cursed this b'yatch into Neverneverland.) Bottomline is, when people fly most are doing it for a reason- Business, Leisure, a funeral or what have you........I am not looking for a political debate, a religious forum or trade recipes with a perfect stranger.

You would be hard pressed to find a 2-1-2 configuration. Look at UA, DL, NW, AA, CO seat maps and I don't think you will find anyone with that configuration. I think there might be some SQ planes in that configuration however I think those aircraft don't have first class they just have raffles class. In the grand scheme of things I bet the seats are much better than the old Envoy seats on the 767s.

CO has a 2-1-2 configuration in their 767-200 and 767-400 aircraft. Very nice, but downside is that all CO business class seats only have 55" of pitch.

But AA, DL, and UA all have 2-2-2

Their seats with the 55" pitch are very similar to what US uses in the A330, AA in their 762 and UA in their widebody fleet that haven't yet been upgraded to the lie flat.

And consider that while CO has the 2x1x2, they are also able to fill most of those with paying passengers. It's considerably more difficult to get an upgrade on a CO flight, especially to Europe or Hawaii.
