Having been in this industry 15 years, I am ashamed to see how juvenile we have become. And we want to be treated like professionals? Yeah, right! I see people posting whining baby photos on this site. Then, when I venture on to the-mechanic.net, I see these asinine cartoons depicting Delle-Femine with an upside down AMFA sign. When I go on the-mechanic.com, never have I seen such sniveling in all my life, not to mention typographical spelling errors. I hope we fix airplanes better than we spell. Finally, I go on amfanuts.com and read ex-IAM officers crying over the fact they lost their "sweetheart deal" union gig to AMFA. No one cares anymore. I am seeing fully vested employees (20+ years) quitting aviation and venturing on to other job markets. The writing is on the wall. Do yourself a favor and start looking for another job. In the near future, I hope we are bought out by a profitable carrier so we can experience how it feels to only receive 25% of our accrued seniority, much like the injustice done to the TWA personnel. That my friends would be poetic justice.
