I'm sick of hearing the whinning about US dehubbing PIT.
Well after a few trips into PHL, I'm sure your tune will change and appreciate PIT 😛
I'm sick of hearing the whinning about US dehubbing PIT. It/s done...move on.
Wrong, you can go back a few years and find that PIT has more than double the originating traffic that CLT has and only about 12% less than PHL. That's why every day in PIT when you work a CLT or PHL flight, all of our originating people are funneled into CLT. We see it every day. All to places that we used to fly to out of PIT. It's just our management is either too stupid or too ignorant to admit it. :blink:it's a beautiful airport......with no local traffic to support it.
I'm sure that "all the originating people" comes to a handful. PIT is no different than ERI or YNG.
...PIT's done.

That shows how clueless you are. The local O&D is there to support a hub, but management has too much of a hard on for PHL to admit it. A good example of this was the discontinuation of flights to FRA. The traffic is there, but mgmt cooked the #'s to justify stopping the flight.
Ask any elite of US/East customer if they prefer PIT over PHL. Noone prefers PHL. PERIOD. I am assuming you are a WEST employee. Wait until you have dealt more with PHL and you'll be singing a different tune. I promise.
I agree with every commuter in the system. PIT is a far superior airport compared to PHL. That being said, PIT was a regional dream of an international carrier. So long as PHL continues to bring in the $$$ there is no place for a PIT Hub. Added to that, it makes no sense from a flight planning point of view. There is no location in the current US Airway system that can not be reached from PHL or PIT, so why have two?
Unless PHL drops off the face of the planet (and there were days I couldn't pray hard enough) PIT will never see the commitment from US Airways that it once had.
