Howcome I have to log in everytime I visit the website while using my computer.. yet when I use a different computer... I don't... is there some obscure setting I have to change?? just kind of annoying...

thanks

WG

Sounds like the one computer does not have cookies enabled. Check your settings for cookies under Tools > Options, should be fine after that.

Aw, shucks all yea helicopter folk are"obscure"!!! Especially the "LoneRanger".

I tried that Kyle.. but it doesn't seem to make any difference.. the cookies were enabled... and it is just this site that doesn't remember my log in...??? and it is only on my laptop.. so it's kinda weird.. I've tried deleting all cookies, all cookies set by this forum etc..... Could it be something in internet settings?? cuz I am out of ideas
any other suggestions?

Yes, change the medication!! 😉 😀 Sorry, cheap shot...too easy.

Try this....has worked for me before

1. Check out the taskbar of Internet Explorer, click on Tools...

2. Select Internet Options

3. Under the General tab click on Delete Cookies. Click OK

4. Under the General tab click on Delete Files. Check Delete all offline content and click OK

5. Under the General tab click on Settings. Near the top you will see "Check for newer versions of stored pages", make sure Automatically is checked and click oK

6. Still under the General tab click Clear History near the bottom then click Yes on the next window to pop up.

7. Finally ckick Apply (if available) and OK

8. Restart your computer, come back to the site and log in. When you log in pay close attention to the section which reads "Remember me?
If enabled, you will be automatically logged in again when you visit.
This is not recommended for shared computers." Make sure you check Yes.

9. Close Internet Explorer, then reopen, visit the site and see if you are still logged in.

10. If that don't work perhaps there is a conflict with your Virus software and/or firewall. A way to overcome that is to make sure you are logged into the site and then uninstall your firewall software. After restarting reinstall the firewall software, it should do a search and include CAavation as a trusted site.

11. Toss the laptop in the garbage!! 😉

Good luck.....

I had that same type of problem last year , finally found My firewall wasn't allowing the cookies in.

:elvis: :elvis:

Sigh... welll i have tried everything.. and even told my computer that this is a trusted site... under securety and internet settings and it is ONLY this one website that it doesn't remember the log in ID.. anyhow I give up.. i guess it's really no big deal that I have to log in everytime.. 🙁 just strange.. :clue: :clue: :eye: :clue:

Try the following steps in this order.

Close all IE windows.
Open 1 IE window
Go TOOLS > OPTIONS
Select the Advanced Tab
Scroll way down to the Bottom
Ensure that "Empty Temporary Internet Files...." is checked off
If it is not checked off, check it off now
Go to General Tab
Delete History
Delete Cookies
Delete Temporary Internet Files
Close the Options window
Close IE

Now, it is best to re-boot just to be sure. I think this should work for you. Post here if it doesn't please, I will come up with another tedious way for you to spend 30 seconds 😉

Also, when you do login here, even now before doing the top, scroll down the main page of the forums to the bootm, there is a "Clear All Cookies" link on the bottom right, this might cure it as well. Sounds to me you have a bad cookie.

Had a bad cookie stuck in the firewall of my jeep one time.

Kyle, sometimes when I click refresh it opens some strange website(never the same one usually) and then the computer will lock up for a time. Any ideas?

WG;

If you are logging on thru your favorites column, try deleting the favorite and reinstalling it. Sometimes it works for me if have a hard time getting into a website.
