Why do HP gate agents in LAS wear jeans? Their uniforms are horrible, but wearing jeans is worse. Business casual is fine, but jeans are not business casual.

It's because they gave to United Way, and its not just Vegas, Phoenix is doing it also. I understand why they are doing it, but I don't think it looks very professional to the customers who don't know why they're wearing jeans

As long as they show up for work, do a good job and are professional...I would think that's the most important.

The kid down the street who goes to private school was allow to were shorts and a tee shirt because he gave to a charity

We give people 1/2 day or 1 full day off who give to United Way at certain levels. Clients and customers don't know why they are wearing jeans...they just leave thinking they are unprofessional.

Don't you see the sticker that they have to wear on their shirts saying "I GAVE MONEY TO THE UNITED WAY SO MY BOSS LET ME WEAR JEANS TO WORK" 😀

sky high states: Imagine opening the door of an aircraft and seeing a CLT HORNETS jersey on the person. Or a PIT Steelers Jersey. Do these dress down days bother you, US1Fare? Is it just me, or do others observe these agents as more relaxed, more pleasant and enjoying the workday because of what they chose to wear to work? (their team spirit)

only stating opinions.

It's the CLT BOBCATS or Carolina Panthers, the hornets moved to msy years ago.

Agreed. I would be much more impressed by a friendly agent in jeans & t-shirt than an unfriendly agent in a tie & dress slacks.

You obviously don't know how to run an East Coast major big boy airline. 🙄

So why have uniforms at all. Who cares about looking professional when just having a relaxed employee serve you is the most important. I guess appearance doesn't matter anymore. I vote for sweat pants and tank-tops.

Nobody's denying that employees should look professional. But, in my opinion, jeans are not unprofessional.

And like I said before, I woudl rather have someone in jeans doing things right--being friendly and acknowledging my presence ..than someone dressed in an expensive uniform that ignores me when I first come up to the podium and doesn't seem to care about being the least bit friendly.
