Received a Rapid Rewards e-mail today announcing that as of Aug 1 all MDW flights will operate out of the spanking-new ''B'' gates! The dim, dark hole known as the ''F'' Concourse will finally close forever, to be demolished.
Went through MDW two weeks ago and arrived and departed out of the new gates for the first time--nice!
Noticed then that the jetways on the ''F'' gates on the side facing the new concourse had already been removed, with the openings boarded up, but that the gates on the other side (across from ATA''s ''A'' gates) were still being used.
Does anyone know if there are plans to add a second ''finger'' to the ''B'' concourse once the old ''F'' Concourse is totally demolished, or is there just going to be all open space between the ''A'' and ''B'' concourses?

Once the F Concourse is demolished the plan is for the A Concourse to be expanded to be equal in size to the B Concourse. Then ATA will have all of A, SWA will have all of B, & all the other airlines will be in C.

Finally, an answer! Thank you--that makes sense. Noticed that at present ATA is using two, I believe, of the "B" gates, along with the "A" concourse.
