And I suppose that DL has never had anything like this happen before???

The beauty of debacles like this is that the consumer can vote with their feet.
If they dont like a certain airline then fly another...

Its a free market, they got what they wanted....

Delta is a great carrier, as are a few others that i'm sure serve these folks cities. at least that is what the anti-trust dept. is suppose to insure.....

Usairways must have messed up,...so fly someone else!! That will be Usairways lose, the others gain.....

If the consumer votes with their feet, good for them...
If they just moan for lower tickets, I say they get what they pay for....

Good for Delta...I havent heard a single negative yet from the winter weather regarding them. You folks were obviously on top of things!!......

Since Crazy Sean thinks this thread belongs on the DAL forum, here's some Delta news he might have missed.

From the NY Times:

<<<But last week JetBlue was not alone in long delays at JFK. According to data compiled by FlightStats, a Portland, Ore., travel information company, for Tuesday through Thursday, departing American flights were delayed an average of 202 minutes at JFK, JetBlue departures an average of 230 minutes and Delta Air Lines departures an average of 205 minutes.

The longest wait on those three days before a flight that eventually took off was 572 minutes at American, 694 at JetBlue and 577 at Delta, according to FlightStats.>>>

Keep up the good work!

apparently the difference is that DL took care of its customers. We didn't hear about them rioting. I heard no reports of police having to be present at DL's ticket counters as they were at B6's.

WT

577 minutes wait for takeoff on Delta is 9 hours and 37 mins

Yes, we had delays that lasted that long, but the difference was our aircraft was not stuck on the ramp for that length of time...the majority of the time that a flight was delayed it was still at the gate with passengers waiting in the gatehouse, not stuck in aircraft on the ramp with overflowing toilets, no food and screaming kids...

If Delta, or any other airline had had the same problems that jetBlue had then our passengers would have been screaming to the media as well...
