IIRC last summer gaucho99 came the closest to predicting our Q2 results. I remember that it was some $50+ million. Anyone care to weigh in a guess--educated or not lol--on this year's results? I'm gonna get real optimistic (or crazy) and guess $310 million.

My guess is a net of $80M to $100M.

Good job US Front Line Employees regardless of the numbers...

I really miss you guys and gals....

Let's see if I can get a winning streak going....I'll guess $160 million. I was surprised DL and UA did as well as they did.

I've never been very good at predictions. But I think I'll weigh in this time. Partly because ONE thing that US has always been very good at was watching the dollars often at the expense of Customers & Employees, however when it comes to bean counters US may be among the best. So here goes:

$195,000,000 USD

BTW, what do I win if I'm closest?

$279 million.

OK, I just read the press release. Good numbers folks! Also, 300 pilot and F/A recalls.

It's TOTALLY because we went cashless. 😉

You sir are 100% correct. They prove EVERY DAY that they do NOT care about employees. They work us short EVERY day & refuse to correct it. In my work area it is taking a VERY SERIOUS toll on the health of employees.

May I suggest you start filling out SER forms if the shortage of staff is creating a safety problem... It's my understanding SER's go to all depts involved and are monitored by the FAA -

Maybe the profit report will help in negotiations....

Here is for me the best news:

Liquidity

The Company’s unrestricted cash and investments balance increased by $451 million to $2.1 billion versus March 31, 2010. As of June 30, 2010, the Company had approximately $2.5 billion in total cash and investments, of which $442 million was restricted. This is the Company’s highest quarter-ending total and unrestricted cash balance since the second quarter 2008.

In any business is GOD! This is especially true in the sirline game

Dougie is on CNBC and US is the 6th largest airline but ranked 3rd in Baggage fees collected.
