Apparently DL is taking the approach of attempting to renegotiate leases first and then reject them if unsuccessful. They have apparently had some success in reducing some leases based on some of the bankruptcy filings. All of the parked aircraft have been rejected including 737 classics, MD-11s, and the FRJs inherited from Atlantic Coast. You can read the filings by clicking on this link and going to the DL page.... it does take a long time to load since there are now well over 1000 motions. It doesn't appear DL is on target to extract significant reductions in aircraft costs. Given that DL and UA have similar fleets (if not similar models then comparable models and ages) and UA is finishing most of its fleet renegotiations, there was little doubt as to what the market will actually bear for aircraft in the US commercial fleet. http://schedule.bsillc.com/
