Line Maintenance Managers

No doubt, the "manager's" job at these line stations will be to put ink to paper when even the scab contractors won't sign something off.
I believe your on to something there...

Did anyone set up a high chair?

I guess they gave up on the policy of conscripting engineers and the like into mgmt. like they did in the early days of the strike?

Pre-strike, the PDX AMT's were managed by SEA, and seem to do just fine...sounds like a big decline in quality from Jett Care and the like...

By the way, I had the "pleasure" of meeting Andy Roberts on Weds. When asked about all of the outsourcing, he replied, "contrary to popular belief, these stations are performing much better than anyone thinks."

So clearly, the American media and flight crews are conspiring to spread lies.... 🙄 🙄 🙄

FWIW, he spent most of his time checking out his Blackberry...very little interaction with the station personnel (which kind of misses the point of a station visit, right?).

No, but maybe we should have....He decided that sitting on the secretary's desk (while she was trying to work) was a better option.

By the way, these mtx manager spots close tomorrow; oughta be interesting to see who fills what....

Kev,

Would it be possible for you to find out who filled those mgmt. positions from RADAR or SCEPTRE and post the results here (after the positions are filled)? Some of us here may find the choices the company made very interesting...

No problem!

Might take awhile for them to show up in Access, though.

For some reason mgmt. awards take forever to appear....

Very interesting...one of the positions is in MKE.

I was in MKE before the strike. I've often wondered what happened to the manager that they already had there, and the 1982 SCAB (Paul Janssen) that jumped into mgmt. there 1 month before our strike. Are they still there, and this position is meant to supplement them? Or is this position being offered with the intent of replacing one/both of them with a lower paid person?

Anyway, I bet the scab mechanics at NW are falling all over themselves submitting their resumes to HR for these management positions...
Theres no way in hell I would take a manager position for what little they pay them. Besides, the motivational techniques I have very successfully employed as a leader over the last 20 years probably would be seen as way too politically incorrect around here.

Oh wonderful, a scab claiming to be a "leader over the past 20 years"

I guess all that wonderful leadership experience couldn't land you a job in the airline industry without crossing a picket line, huh scab?

Go crawl back under your rock. 😛h34r:

I must be missing something here, cause for the life of me I cannot see how ones stance on organised labor has anything whatsoever to do with the ability to lead troops. I dont ever recall being asked to show a union card when rounds were coming downrange.

Thanks for not actually responding to the post.

You are a scab...period...a true leader among cowards

Wow! You have that goin' for you!

It seems like those that actually wanted to work for an airline, who were from Michigan, did not have to go to Dothan, AL to get a job.

Did you add the number of your teeth to your IQ score, scab?

I will no longer respond to your drivel.

I can see why you'd igore him. You're responses to him make you look very small. Anyone with an ounce of perspective would see that military service to this great country carries far more weight, and is a much greater indicator of character than one's union affiliation. You put union before country, and that is really sad. I'm guessing you're a democrat.

What an ass.

My post had nothing to do with his claim of military service. Just where did I "put union before country"?

I am the product of a staunch military family. My post was of him referring to himself as a leader of 20 years. If all his suppposed military experience and leadership skills did exist, he would have been able to land a job without waiting on a group to go on strike and then slither in. I guess your role has gone from championing NWA to sticking up for the scabs employed by them? You are on the clock finny, don't you get paid to do some work other than write posts for the scab?

I'm guessing you have never served in the military.

No, I never served, and I would never call someone who had served a coward as you did in your post. Do you stand by that, or is your military family ok with calling servicemen cowards if they don't believe in unionism.

I did not call him a coward. I said "You are a scab...period...a true leader among cowards", referring to him being among the coward scabs at NWA. I have no idea if he leads anyone in the military, or if he even was in the military. That does not take away his scab status. Stop trying to put words into my post that do not exist Finman.
