Can anyone tell me how UA loads their larger pieces of freight into the A320's?

How many people do you utilize when lifting it from the cart to the belt loader. Or even what kind of machinery do you utilize to lift it.

FWIW, at NW, we use beltloaders..Anything outsized or over 75 pounds is handled by 2 guys (or as many as are required).

I'm curious though; why are you asking? Is something going on at WN that's "not right" (my term, for lack of a better one)?

Excellent question Kev.

"perhaps", ol' "ramper" is breakin' his balls trying to lift 100 pounders from the baggage cart UP into the belly.

When he can't do it, a Stupervisor/lead is telling him that "NO MATTER WHAT, THIS PLANE HAS TO GO ON TIME, because we are WN, and we ARE a TEAM"

NH/BB's

Well as of August 1, 2006 WN will be raising the maximum weight of a single piece of freight from 150# to 200#. I am just doing some research on the other airlines and how they load thier heavier pieces of freight into their baby boeings
