What's new

Lois G. Lerner, the woman at the center of the tea party targeting scandal, has resigned

This craps gone on long enough....regardless of which party is in control.

The IRS would not put up with IRS excuses for not being able to produce records. The same penalties should apply to Lerner.

Incarceration for evasion.

Paul Ryan wins the quote of the day...

You ask taxpayers to hold onto seven years of their personal tax information in case they are audited and you can't keep track of emails past six months?

Interesting if they still are contracted.

Is that a smoking gun  I smell?  It turns out the IRS contracted with a company that provides email backup services starting in 2005.  This first came to light in the Twitter feed of moregenr, who noticed that the IRS appears on the client list of email  archiving service provider Sonasoft.

Looks like someones goose might be cooked.....

The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) cancelled its longtime relationship with an email-storage contractor just weeks after ex-IRS official Lois Lerner’s computer crashed and shortly before other IRS officials’ computers allegedly crashed.

Sonasoft was providing “automatic data processing” services for the IRS throughout the January 2009 to April 2011 period in which Lerner sent her missing emails.
But Sonasoft’s six-year business relationship with the IRS came to an abrupt end at the close of fiscal year 2011, as congressional investigators began looking into the IRS conservative targeting scandal and IRS employees’ computers started crashing left and right.

This will get interesting......

Here’s a Sonasoft commercial re-enacting how the company quickly and thoroughly saves its clients’ emails after computer crashes:

Hmm....Perhaps we should instead wish her spared, and reasonably just take a larger view of all this snap. Just consider for a moment how much "the dog ate my homework" defense for any of us, as individuals or business owners, has now been fully, laughably and "legally" vindicated against audit or prosecution? 😉

IRS: Sir/Madam: You've claimed to be the owner of at least some 50 salt mines in Siberia, yet disclosed no income from these ever...?  Well....I both take the 5th and proudly (if only laughably) state that my dog ate all of my emails and records.... There does exist such a thing as legal precedence, and I've personally shared lunchtime laughter with several, admittedly lawyer friends at all of this utterly insane IRS BS.

Hello America...If enough of you mindless morons can take your eyes off Dancing With the Stars/American Idol/whatever for a moment...well, the very IRS nowadays takes the 5th....Does even THAT finally clue you in as to WTF's really going on these days?

If the 5th wasn't enough; I'd reasonably think we can all of us now go with the just-too-incredibly-stupid-for-even-basic-math, even basic fractions/percentages "defense". Before erupting into uncontrollable laughter fellow citizens; it must be fully realized that all this BS comes from one of the IRS's "leaders" and "great minds":

Try seriously spinning away any of that "liberals"....Who's first? 😉

Agreed.

The IRS would not buy the "dog ate my homework" defense. I feel the corruption goes way up. Maybe all the way up to the Executive Branch. Lerner does not want to face Trey Gowdy, btw.

Per "The IRS would not buy the "dog ate my homework" defense."..? I wasn't kidding when describing lunch with a couple of admittedly lawyer friends, who suggested the now defacto establishment of new-and-improved "standards", but who knows?

"I feel the corruption goes way up. Maybe all the way up to the Executive Branch." Ya' think? 😉 Seriously and tragically for us all though snap; that much is certain.

Whenever again involved in any audit; it'll certainly be tempting to offer up the Lois Lerner "defense" = The dog ate my homework, and I'm just too incredibly stupid to even be able to process the most basic math...and if that's not sufficient, well...I take the 5th! 🙂

I was audited twice. Once as a business owner in the early 80's and again, 12 years ago. Good thing I kept good records, I managed to make it out without a scratch. There is no doubt there is a double-standard.

Methinks merely "double" would be putting things in a bit of a yet-hopeful, but wholly naive light for any "standard" these days snap. As an ancient creature, born into childhood when America was still adding stars to the Flag....well...in my worst-ever nightmares, not even any vilest-possible dreams for what's now happening to our Nation could have ever manifested. America was all about Freedom and the worth of the individual...WTF happened to that? When did our supposed "people" become such pathetically mindless little sheep? "The land of the Free and home of the Brave"?  How's it even possible that it's turned into such a spineless cesspool of squirming worms lately? Rant over. 😉

In any future audits though, just from now-fully-proper, complete contempt and spite...I'm still gonna' go with "the Lois Lerner "defense" = The dog ate my homework, and I'm just too incredibly stupid to even be able to process the most basic math...and if that's not sufficient, well...I take the 5th!" 🙂

Dear IRS,

It seems I will be unable ti properly file my federal tax return. As you know many of us store and file our returns electronically. Well it seems that I share some of the IT challenges faced by the IRS. Due to a hard drive crash I am unable to produces the documents requested.that would allow me to file my return in an accurate and timey fashion

Going forward I have taken steps to ensure proper custody of my records. As of today all documents will be stored on two hard drives and a paper copy maintained. This will be a triple redundant system with storage in electronic and eye readable format which is DoD compliant.

I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this unfortunate incident may have caused the IRS. With the new process in place we should have an error free 2015 filing. Thank you for understanding
Sincerely
Sparrowhawk.

Think the line of poop would fly for any of us?

Perhaps a better question would be: Is ANYONE honestly so stupid as to at all even begin to believe that those emails were "lost"? If so; how do they ever manage to even balance themselves to walk upright, instead of on all fours?....Knuckle-dragging is both allowable and fully expected of the liberal elite though...
