The IRS has done what Enron did with regard to destroying records. It's only evil if private industry does it, right?
Or when it is not the Republican. Feel free to highlight your outrage when the Bush administration emails were lost and Issa blew it off.

They should all be prosecuted if criminal intent is found. I don't care what party.

And what was Issa's role then?

I believe he was still on the oversight committee, just not the chair. Waxman had his hair on fire back then.

Then the issue would be why didn't Waxman pursue it?

Would it? Go back and read Issa's statements. He and Waxman are hypocrites.

Waxman was chair.....he could have investigated .....Issa wasn't even ranking GOP member.

Say what you wish but this case.....its an infringement on the Constitutional rights of US citizens.

Look at this:

In 2000, Clinton EPA administrator Carol Browner responded to a Landmark Legal Foundation FOIA lawsuit by claiming that she didn’t use her government computer for e-mail. But Browner then ordered the hard drive on the computer to be reformatted and all backup tapes destroyed, just hours after a federal judge ordered her agency to preserve all agency e-mails.

What balls we have.

And the saga continues:

A Monday release from Judicial Watch spelled things out:

Department of Justice attorneys for the Internal Revenue Service told Judicial Watch on Friday that Lois Lerner’s emails, indeed all government computer records, are backed up by the federal government in case of a government-wide catastrophe. The Obama administration attorneys said that this back-up system would be too onerous to search. The DOJ attorneys also acknowledged that the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA) is investigating this back-up system.
We obviously disagree that disclosing the emails as required would be onerous, and plan to raise this new development with Judge Sullivan.
This is a jaw-dropping revelation. The Obama administration had been lying to the American people about Lois Lerner’s missing emails. There are no “missing” Lois Lerner emails – nor missing emails of any of the other top IRS or other government officials whose emails seem to be disappearing at increasingly alarming rate. All the focus on missing hard drives has been a diversion. The Obama administration has known all along where the email records could be – but dishonestly withheld this information.

Uh oh, spaghetti-o's....time for a special prosecutor.

This is what all the IT professionals have been saying all along -- email is never stored only on someone's hard-drive. And yet, the media and policrats have tried to make people thing that those emails were lost forever, so just move along...

Give all the backup data to a couple of Google employees. They'll have all of Lerner's emails extracted in about 15 minutes...
