Lower Fares

The city of SYR is hoping Southwest will show up...one day🙂

jetBlue is said to be starting SYR-BOS service (so far only a rumor), along their JFK and recently started daily Orlando.

JB is doing BUF-BOS with the 190... aren't they taking some of the prime former US routes?

Yes, and US's response was to throw a bunch more high-CASM Chautauqua ERJ frequencies on the route.

AirTran is also flying ROC-BOS with the B717.

Wow. Impressive list of fare cuts...especially, BOS, BWI and a couple of the western markets. DCA surprises me since US owns this route and there's no real competition. US must think there's more traffic to be stimulated there. Good news for SYR.

I must have missed it....but when did they move Manchester to Vermont!?!?

Now we need the Westies to learn the geography and lingo of the Eastern US. Hey, they were close. Its in one of those small states up there that never have the name spelled out on it. Guess they just couldnt follow the line to the right state.
Also, Johnson City, TN? Its called Tri Cities. At least they spelled out Greensboro instead of saying PTI.

Second thought on the subject. Maybe thats why our baggage rate is so bad. They're sending them to the wrong state!

You have a point about the rest, but it's actually Bristol/Johnston City/Kingsport, TN. The airport is called Tri-Cities Regional (TRI) after the area, not just one city, since it's not in any of the 3.

Sorta the opposite of Piedmont Triad International (PTI), which serves Greensboro/High Point/Winston-Salem (the Triad area). Everybody still calls it Greensboro (even the FAA) because it's in Greensboro.

Oh yeah. $309 for a one-way walkup to MYR, but $243 to SFO. 🙁

The B6 BUF-BOS route is the most underperforming in their system, running daily avg LF of 24%
