What's new

Mark Foley. Cover up?

So then what is it other than Iraq that upsets you about those nasty Republicans?
Patriot Act??
No child left behind??
Borders/Immigration??
Economy doing fine??

This could be along list.
This could be along list.

Don't care for the conservative activist judges being appointed.

The environmental record is abysmal.

The religious influence is horrible.

Their attempts to alter the basis (pursuit of life, liberty and justice….) of the constitution (Flag burning, gay marriage amendments to name a few) is vile.

Their attempts to dictate what a woman may do with/to her body.

The economy is going into the dump. Personal debt is at an all time high, savings at an all time low. Wages are not keeping up with the cost of living. More and more jobs are leaving US soil. National debt ceiling has been increased to over 9 Billion dollars. If I remember correctly, The trade deficit is up as well. We had record high fuel costs this past summer but no one seems to be pushing alt fuels. Nah, we give tax breaks to commercial vehicles over 6,000 lbs so that anyone with a ‘business’ can get a tax break on a gas guzzler.

Veto on stem cell research (hell, even Regans wife wants it passed. Funny how when something is personal, your opinion changes.

No child left behind? Please are you serious?

Not sure what you have been reading but the republicans are as nervous as a cat in a rocking chair store (or how ever that saying goes). It's the same crap different party. Now it's the repubslicans turn to get their walking papers. I could be wrong and the peope get duped again for another 2 more years but from what I am reading, I do not see that as being very likely.

This Foley thing is starting to lose steam too quickly before the elections. The Dems better come up with another Republicans bad Dems good scandal.

I'd say that it's worse for the Reps if this scandal dies b/c then we'll go back to the real issues...the ones that were turning the public away from the GOP before the GOP helped to keep the Foley scandal propped up long-enough to create a diversion. After all...if you are in the GOP, isn't it better to direct everyone's attention to the moral shortcomings of one or two individuals rather than to the hundreds of legislators and executives that are committing the much larger atrocities? I hope it does die down. I'm tired of the GOP hiding behind it.

Geesus, you just placed the entire shabang in a nutshell. Couldn't agree more...the Republicans (which once, for 8 years was my party) this time are going out.

I even convinced my son and his buddies who are 19 years old, and in college, to get rid of the Republican incumbants.

My duaghter 24, son 19 and myself are going together vote on Nov. 7. For my son, will be his first time.

Ba..bye...

Naw they're going to brew up some of their own...Looks like they're going to hang Sandy Berger out to dry now....Stealing secret doc's to cover up for clinton will make Foley and his penchant for phone sex disappear for good.

Dem Playbook,pg's 347-351

Dem Playbook,pg 367 - we're just getting warmed up here....

This coming from the party that relied on falsified and exaggerated intelligence (per the authorities in the intel community themselves) to justify killing thousands of our own in a war that has nothing to do with 9/11 and is FAR down on the list of countries that are truly a terror threat?! Hmmmm. And this coming from a party that outed an intel officer risking her life and destroying her career just to get revenge for some truthful remarks regarding the corruption behind the administration and how they have lied to the public?

I told you that I couldn't care less about these sex scandals. The Reps do, though, b/c it is a good diversion. Just have to keep all eyes on two people until after Nov so that the public won't be thinking about how wrong of a direction the hundreds of representatives from the GOP have taken us after hijacking the gov't.

Press on, mighty GOP soldiers, in your quest for finding irrellevant truths. Oh...and be sure to go after Reid...but don't forget to go after the scores of Reps tied up with Abramhoff. I imagine the latter will take you much more time than the Reid issue...and be more interesting.

The GOP lives by the diversion tactics b/c they cannot ever accept blame. Suck it up you morally corrupt bunch. Hiding behind a morals platform doesn't make you immune to immorality...we have clearly seen that...to a much larger scale than the dems.

Falsified and exaggerated intel that most of the major players in the free world and the UN all agreed was accurate at the time...forgot that, didn't we?

Yes President Bush woke up early one morning and said" I need a good excuse to kill a bunch of young Americans....now what can I do?"

And this coming from a party that outed an intel officer risking her life and destroying her career just to get revenge for some truthful remarks regarding the corruption behind the administration and how they have lied to the public?
In order to violate the Intelligence Identities Protection Act, one must expose the identity of a "covert agent." To be considered a covert agent, one must be "serving outside the United States or has within the last five years served outside the United States." § 426(4)(a)(ii). (See [4] and [5] for the definition of covert agent.) Plame hasn't been posted overseas in the last five years.

In his book The Politics of Truth, Joe Wilson wrote that he and Plame, his then future wife, both returned from overseas assignments in June 1997.

Neither Wilson nor Plame will say whether she was stationed overseas since 1997.

"My wife was not a clandestine officer the day that Bob Novak blew her identity."

a party that outed an intel officer risking her life
hearing reliable reports she once choked on an olive in a Martini at a State dinner

I told you that I couldn't care less about these sex scandals.

Everyone else in your party has had a major orgasmic episode over this.... <_<

Press on, mighty GOP soldiers, in your quest for finding irrellevant truths.

Translating from the dem playbook as we speak.... 😉

Ahhh...some your boys stepped in the DooDoo too Dood

Yeah,good point....

And you seem to have forgotten that most of the major players in the free world ALSO opposed military action at that point in time...

Everyone else in your party has had a major orgasmic episode over this.... <_<
And judging from what happened after a little white house blow job, every one in YOUR party enjoyed multiple orgasms...

Yes...b/c the person who had all of the intel (Bush) made such a grand case with it. The rest of the free world and the UN was not privy to all of the intelligence b/c that would be a matter of national security. Same with Congress. Sure, nearly everyone that Bushie made his sales pitch to believed him and and voted with him, but only Bushie had all of the intelligence. The legislature and the rest of the world had to rely on those that were truly privy to all of the intelligence. I'm sick of people touting how Dems and the world (wait...what "world"? Sure as hell remember that nobody other than the UK, Australia, and Pakistan went with us...what are you trying to reinvent?!) voted "for" war with Iraq. What was that based on? A sales pitch by Bushie and Rummie...the only ones that were allowed to see all of the data. I'd say that was a good sales pitch in that he was able to twist the data that he had and make a convinceable pitch. But I'd also say that it was an atrocious sales pitch in that it wasn't thought through and it has cost billions of dollars and more importantly...thousands of lives. All for something that had nothing to do with 9/11 and nothing to do with a near-term threat (ala Iran and N Korea). But then again...if I am a sovereign nation in the world right now, who is more of a threat to attack and invade me? Iran? N. Korea? No...the overwhelming data says that it is the United States.

Yea, you're right. This is just an isolated poll. The republicans have nothing to worry about in the mid-term elections. Everything is running smoothly. The economy is great. No international conflicts. No scandals taking place. Yep, everything is cool. Republicans are running 90%+ approval ratings and everyone is thrilled with their performance. They are just spending their butts off on advertisements to do their part in helping out the economy.
Brave and valiant Dennis "Stonewall" Hastert has vowed to fire as many aides and interns as it takes in his quest for the truth! He absolutely must not resign, so that all America can get a really good, sickening look at the republicon values he truly represents!

Yall spew your vile contempt for the reublicans and such....but I don't think you will regain control....American public is just as much distrusting of the dem's and in particular of having both houses controlled by a bunch of fanatic liberal democrats. Its that bad with the lib's.....

Besides...you hear all this mantra about Bush and the Repub's....but I haven't heard much of what the dem's are going to do to change things...as usual ,lack of a defined mission??

It already in stone...the Repubs are OUT!

Delldude predicts:

Pitbull may be depressed election night 😉

Rush might have some spare oxycontin should your prediction not come true. By the way...what are the Repubs going to do to change things...America is wondering.

Sometimes a plan can be to NOT do something. Like NOT pissing off the rest of the world in a time (globalization) when we should be building stronger ties. Like NOT sending two military invasions with no plans for follow-through. Like NOT creating an enormous wedge between our own citizens just for political gains. Like NOT taking bribes from Abramhoff. Like NOT using fear for political gains. Like NOT amending the constitution to violate civil rights (didn't the Nazis do this?). Like NOT.... well...you get the picture. I've said it before...Ignorance plus pride spells disaster. Action without any thought is a nightmare. Perhaps it would be better to have somebody doing nothing in the gov't b/c when "doing something" means doing all the wrong things, I just don't think it's the right way to go. I, for one, appreciate the lives of our soldiers and our relationships with the global community enough to NOT do the things that our gov't has done over the last 6 years. It's time to get rid of the "doers" if the "doers" are also not "thinkers".

Funny I asked about the dems.....see no answer....
