Not so sure about that. It brings up an interesting dilemma though. Going solely on the article you linked, he was at the very least soliciting minors with the intent of having sex with them once they turned 18. I am very uneasy with the president that would set by saying that is OK. If a 60 years old starts seducing a 10 year old is that OK? How about 11 years old, or 12? Were do we draw the line. I thought one of the ideas between the difference of a minor verses an adult was mental ability. The ability to make informed decisions and be responsible for ones own life. Granted the age is just a random age. One 20 year old may not have the ability/experience that a 15 year old would have but it is none the less, the age which we as a nation have decided to set as the transition point. To say that it is OK for a senator to seduce a minor is at best a very slippery slope. I equate it with the difference between attempted murder and murder. The only difference I see is that you were to incompetent to carry out the plan. I see know reason why the penalty should be different for either crime.

This dem knows there is a God...and also believes in letting that God have the final say in whether or not one's life on earth was right or wrong. If deciding that I would rather not have my government run by "Christian" doctrine makes my life wrong, then let God be the judge of that...not you or anyone else. IF my government must be run by Christian doctrine, then I'd much perfer the doctrine of the New Testament over the Old Testament...you know...the new Testament was the one that introduced "Christ" into "Christianity".

Please, just because you are homophobic does not mean that I am. I have never equated homosexuality with any type of perversion.

As for not breaking any laws, I guess the courts will have to decide that. I fail to see how soliciting a minor cannot be a violation of the law. Would it be ok for a 60 year old to solicit a 10 year old? You would not want to see that person in jail? A minor is a minor, whether 1 year old or 17. It is the age which we as a society have set. As I intended to state earlier, I am not very comfortable with the precedent that would set.

All the religious rantings aside. Not sure why any one is even bothering addressing it. 700 is obviously steadfast in his/her beliefs. Trying his/her beliefs is tantamount to moving Mt. Everest with a teaspoon.

At least with political discussion one can use facts to prove or disprove a theory. Religious discussions have no such advantage. Seems like a fruitless pursuit to me.

That's true...just tried looking up the part of the bible that says "Judge not, lest ye be judged". In it, they explain how it's okay to judge, if you're doing it in God's name. So I am sure that 700 feels quite comfortable judging me, although truth be told, I'll bet God knows me better than 700U ever will, seeings how his judgement is based on a couple of sentences on a message board. God's known me for almost 50 years.
