Negotiating Committee Update - August 26, 2005
From: Mark Burdick, AWA MEC Negotiating Committee Chairman
To: All AWA Pilots

The two MEC Negotiating Committees met with the company on Wednesday in
Washington, DC to continue negotiations on a Transition Agreement (TA). The
participants from our side and the company's side are listed at the bottom
of this update.

This week, we focused our discussions on bringing the EMB-190 flying in
house and have submitted a proposal to the company. While we received
positive feedback from the company, we are still waiting for their counter
proposal.

We are encouraged by the progress made this week; however, there are still
several economic-related issues yet to be resolved. Your Negotiating
Committee is committed to resolving these outstanding issues in a manner
acceptable to this pilot group and in a timely fashion.

We will continue to update you as events warrant. On behalf of your
Negotiating Committee, thanks for your patience and interest.

Mark
