West has Caremark prescription plan. 2005 started a program where all maintenance meds had to be mail ordered. It's a $60 co-pay for a 90 days supply. Works out to $20/month per med, of course.
TWU only wants Date of Hire for ALL employees! Across the board! Thanks for the input Jen. I do agree with you. I am willing to give TWU a chance, but to do that with first have to get enough cards sent in to have an election. I know first hand how many ways and times we have been misrepresentd by the iam. I have had it with them from the start. since the iam start representing U rampers, with have lost at every turn. And it hurts to know that the iam smiles at us and basically says big deal. Things have to change soon, especially how philly has the iam bamboozled in every way. The start point must be changing to the DOH seniority system, which is fair for all concerned. Then bring hP up to U payscales.Once those two things are accomplished everything else should fall right into place. GO TWU!

For us you have 3 refills in your pharmacy for your convenience for all the in-betweens. I have also found talking to your Dr. if a prescription is changed, are usually more than happy to provide samples to meet your needs. Especially maintenance meds.East has Caremark starting 2005 as well. We never negotiated a change to our prescription coverage. Mail order for maintenance meds was a "cost savings" the company stole from the workers. How the employees found out about the mail-in and Caremark being the prescription plan was by mail BY CARWEMARK. A notice went by postal mail not by managment or USAirways (it was NOT even on theHUB). It was by a mail notice 5 days before it went into effect on Feb. 1.2005.
The mail order has negative financial consequences for those employees who have their maintenance med dosages changed frequentely as well as for the f/as specifically the reserves not being home when their meds come in the mail. The meds just sit in the mail box.

Well west you can have your pharmacy fill your prescriptions 3 per each medication annually you can actually fill these when you want per 30 day dosage. It is set up this way so it can be used as a convenience if you require regularly taken meds.No. Physicians will give you samples of new meds to try, not medication dosage changes on maintenance meds. The physicians don't have the supplies in their offices to accommodate all the patients they have to give away medications because the dose fluctuates with your lab work.
I know, I've worked in Dr. offices.
As far as the East, we have no such thing as "3 refills for convenience for in-betweens" for any maintenance drugs.
Does this person ever have ANYTHING positive to say??Jen,
Let's just hope the CEO doesn't drop the gallot on your present health care coverage to capture more cost savings for the company and himself. Trust, you don't want the East coast PPO crap.
Hope you get to keep your enthusiasm, butI have a hunch the West folks are going to get an ear full from the management on COST savings and force the East insurance down your throats.
