Quote "They negotiate their contracts individually based on merit, performance and ability"
Seems to me my contract was negotiated based on my performance & ability.
Why aren't thier contracts subject to being "raped" by the court the way mine was?

And once again, the Uinvestor rears his head..blah..blah...blah You have never shown any care for U employees, just want to try to stir the pot.

The unions in this country will never learn from history. AMFA @ NWA should learn a hard lesson from the IAM@USAIR. Your management will get their labor cost down in Chapter 11.

700UW and PITBULL need to accept the fact that they lost. They were left holding the short end of the stick. PITBULL and 700UW are the root cause of why unions need to be dismantle in America. Their mentality does more harm than good. If I were a member of the IAM or AFA, I would be ashamed to be a member.

There is a law firm in DC that has a great motto:"When they roar...we pounce"
I have never met Glass but know associates that have dealt with him and the unions should have known that they could not out smart this guy. He performed his work with precision.
That is because today's unions base their pay on seniority. This arcadic system is the problem with the unions. It allows slackers to take advantage of the structure. If I were CEO of USAIR, I would get rid of all of the unions. Frank Lorenzo gets a bad name, but he did what was needed to be done to save Eastern, even though the unions ended up destroying the company.

I want to ask the new CEO of USAIR what is he going to do once all of the other bankrupt airlines lower their cost even lower? The current employees better expect more concessions because I vision them in the future if NWA/DL get their way in the courts. You better get ready to open up your wallets.

You claim "Lorenzo did what was necessary to save Eastern". In case you haven't heard EAL went out of business TWO YEARS after the IAM left the property forever. But lets look at his other "achievement", Continental. He used bankruptcy to bust the unions there in 1982 and paid sh*t wages with no benefits and treated the people like trash. During the next ten or so years with wages that would embarass a third world streetsweeper, Continental still lost vast amounts of money and filed bankruptcy again while all the other UNIONIZED legacy airlines made record profits.Continental also had the WORST service of any airline. To prove your post even more ridiculous look at USAir now. With the outright slaughter of the wages and benefits, large numbers of veterans have left and low paid newhires are taking their place. The service problems at USAir have been posted over and over on these boards and I have seen them with my own eyes (I used to work right next to USAir. )So take your "it is all the workers fault and executives can do no wrong" attitude and stick it up your a$$.

Bob:

It's likely going to take more then 90 days to fix PHL. To be honest you should give the new management about a year.
